Tree Lighting & Nativity

Tonight after dinner we headed over to the civic center for the big Christmas tree lighting event. The weather was nice & warm this year, so there was a HUGE turn out of people. We got a free cookie & hot chocolate from Chick Fil A. We also got to hang out w/ Nate, Riannon, & the kids.

It was fun to countdown to the tree lighting. It's so pretty & bright!

We loved watching the fireworks go off on top of one of the buildings. It was so fun to share it w/ Frank & Spencer this year. As a Mom this year was bittersweet, b/c last year Autumn was all about going to the different booths with me. This year, she found some friends and wanted to go exploring w/ them. I'm so happy she's growing up, but sad at the same time.

After the tree lighting, we went over to the church so Frank & Spencer could experience the annual nativity displays for the first time. They really enjoyed it.

I was SHOCKED to see a beehive door from Slovenija in the mix. As far as I know, Mom is the only one that has one of those since I brought it back for her from my mission. But since she's in South Africa, they didn't use any of her nativities this year (THANK GOODNESS). Now I'm super curious as to who this belongs to???

This year they added something different. There was a stable set up in one of the foyers w/ some dress up clothes. Nick & Savi & Matthew took this picture and sent it to all of us. Isn't it PRECIOUS!?!? Hard to believe that last year Nick & Savi sat in as Mary & Joseph & had to use a doll. This year they have a real life baby!!!
