I went to pick Nick up from work tonight...he works at Market Street. I got out my phone to play Bejeweled while I waited for him only to discover that I had a missed call and a voice mail (I didn't even hear the phone ring). Anyways, it was Jenni Mitchell who I had served a mission with in Slovenija. Sis. Mitchell is the type of person that could walk on water, and I would not be surprised. She is so perfect, I'm amazed she hasn't been translated yet. (She's the one in the picture below in the peach shirt on the right hand side w/ her equally perfect husband in the white shirt standing behind her). By the way, this is a picture of my mission friends from Slovenija at my wedding.
Anyways, she left a message just saying hi and she was thinking about me and to call her back. So I did and we had a nice little chat. She asked me how I was doing, how Autumn was doing, how I like being back in Texas, etc. Then she said something that brought tears to my eyes. She said (not an exact quote), "I just wanted you to know that I admire your strength and courage, and I pray for you all the time and I put your name on the prayer roll at the temple." I don't know why, but that put a huge lump in my throat and I couldn't talk for a few seconds while I regained my composure.
It has meant so much to me that Jonesie, Brenner, Mitchell, and other dear sweet friends have just called me up to see how I am doing. Their love and support have helped to get me through this rough patch of life. And it's such a blessing that we have all kept in touch so well since the mission. I appreciate every one's thoughts and prayers in my behalf.
THANK GOODNESS FOR GOOD FRIENDS!
