Fun weekend

Jason came into town this weekend to see Autumn. Saturday morning him and Nick (my brother) and Autumn and I went to the Dallas World Aquarium. It's right near downtown Dallas and the building is surrounded by apartment buildings. You would never notice it unless you were really looking for it. This is the back of the building.

It was a fairly nice aquarium with a nice path that was easy to follow so you could make sure you got to see all the animals. This was a huge tank that you got to see from the top and then you get to go down underneath and see the animal life through the glass. This manatee and the huge turtles were some of our favorite animals.

This background almost looks fake, but it's not. The manatee was going up to the surface to get some air.

Jason was becoming good friends with the manatee. This pic is a little fuzzy b/c I had to turn the flash off so there wasn't the glare off the glass. But I think it's a cool pic.

In one part of the aquarium, they have a black jaguar and we waited for 30 minutes in order to catch this Mayan group perform. It was neat. The guy with the big eagle wings spread did a dance where he picked up fire and even had fire under his legs. This performance was the best part of the aquarium. It was good, but not for $16 per person. Oh, well. Nick really enjoyed the shark tank, Jason liked the manatee, and I liked that Autumn was such a good girl and that the path through the whole thing was stroller friendly. All in all, a fun outing.

After the aquarium, we were all super hungry, so we went to this amazing Italian place called Napoli's. We were laughing b/c this huge calzone of Jason's looks like a manatee.

After eating, we went to the park to walk around and enjoy the perfect weather. There were some soccer games going on, so we sat on the grass and let Autumn crawl around. She was loving it.

After that, it was starting to get dark so we went back to the hotel to watch a movie. I dressed Autumn up in her costume so Jason could see her in it. All in all, it was a nice and relaxing weekend. I am glad that Jason is able to come down and see Autumn so that she knows who her dad is.
