Yes, that's right. I'm the ripe old age of 28. That is so weird to me, b/c I remember being 12 years old and babysitting for couples who were 28 years old with little kids and thinking how old and mature they were. As you can tell from my crown, I'm not one of those mature types! I went to WalMart on my way to work and bought myself a crown b/c I wanted one. My Dad and brother surprised me at work by brining by donuts (they couldn't find a cake shop). What a fun surprise that was.
Then a girl that used to work with us came in and brought her 5 day old baby! That's right...5 days old! I got to hold him and kiss his sweet little cheeks for about 30 minutes. I can't believe that Autumn Bottom was ever this little. That was another fun surprise.
On the way home from day care, Autumn was being super fussy britches, so I let her play with my crown and then we put it on her for dinner. She loved it and kept it on for a good 5 minutes. I've known it all along...she really is a princess. As you can see, she's practicing her parade wave.
It's a tradition in our family that my mom will make us whatever we want for our special birthday dinner. I requested homemade eggrolls, fried rice, and sweet and sour sauce. It was SO SO SO GOOD! Her and Lexie started cooking around 2:00 and didn't finish until I walked in the door at 6:00!!! Then Lexie cleaned up the whole kitchen. What a nice treat.
For dessert I requested sheet cake eclairs instead of the traditional birthday cake. They were also very scrumptious. All in all, it was a fun and low key birthday. Thanks to Tara and Rufio for the birthday phone calls. I really can't believe I'm 28. I know that's still young, but at the same time, I feel like I was in high school just a few years ago and here it's been 10 years! Where has the time gone? I think of all that has transpired since my last birthday and am just so thankful to have such amazing family and friends to surround me with love and support. So here's to another great year!
