So today Nick and Autumn and I went on a walk to go over to the lot and take a picture of the flowers. Autumn was getting fussy and didn't want to walk, so I put her up on my shoulders to give her a piggy back ride. I had this pair of sunglasses on kind of like a headband to hold back my hair. Well, when I put Autumn up over my head and onto my shoulders, the sunglasses went back with her. I told Nick to get them, and he went to grab the side of it, and it broke right off. Now, this is my ultimate most favorite pair of sunglasses ever. They fit me (it's hard to find sunglasses that fit my big head), they had bling on them, they were black and went with everything, and they just fit my face well. I was so mad that I dropped the D word. I went on and on for about 20 seconds about how they were my favorite and then I realized what I was saying and doing.
Poor Nick felt so bad and I felt like crap for making him feel bad. I took the sunglasses and tossed them into a pile of garbage and said that they're just sunglasses and I can always get more sunglasses. It made me so aware of the importance of what I say and the effect it has on others. My sunglasses mean nothing in comparison to making my own wonderful brother feel good. I felt like such a jerk for making such a big deal out of something material that doesn't last. I apologized to him and know that this is a life lesson I will always carry with me. People are ALWAYS more important than things.

People are the most important, but it takes a lifetime of reminding us doesn't it? Brecklynn took my sunglasses out of the diaper bag in Arizona and dropped them on our way out of the mall and to the airport. I am still a little bummed-mine were white with bling bling on them and were also my favorite and fit just right. Oh well, that's life. Just know you are not abnormal for getting mad-we all do it!
