Go Cougs...NOT!

I absolutely LOVE the cream cheese and jalapeno taquitos at 7-11. Today Braulio brought me one for Happy Boss' Day! I thought that was the sweetest and nicest thing ever. Thanks, Braulio!

I got off work early today and left at 2:00 to head home so we could leave to go tailgate before the BYU/TCU game. We loaded the grill in the truck and drove over to Ft. Worth. We set up our party and guess who was there practicing? That's right...Aunt Sandy is trying to copy the BYU cheerleaders.

Only at a BYU football game would you see this...the cheerleaders gathered in prayer before the start of the game. I have to admit we were kind of naughty and were saying stuff to each other like, "Dear Lord...please prepare TCU for the butt-whooping they are about to receive." The cheerleaders really were incredible and are great athletes.

The Monzingos got this new truck and guess what one of the features of it is...a built-in cooler for drinks! I thought this was so awesome, and we for sure enjoyed having ice cold drinks from the trunk of the truck.

Dad, Uncle Robert and Bro. Monzingo...the grill masters. Everyone was told to bring their own meat to grill and then a side dish to share with everyone. Mom made frog eye salad b/c we were playing the TCU Horned Frogs. The food was super yummy, especially the marinated chicken tenders.

My cousin, Kerry K. and some of his kids drove up from Austin just for the game. It was SO FUN having them there, and I'm so glad they came. They are die-hard BYU fans.

Here's the whole group. Behind those white and blue balloons in the background was the official BYU tailgate party for the BYU Alumni. We had a few of them come over and say our food and party looked like more fun, which it totally was.

Aunt Sandy had this cake made for Emily for her birthday, but they got stuck in traffic and didn't make it to the tailgate party, so we enjoyed her cake without her. Sorry, Emily!

Sis. Paxman did some face art before the game. She told me to blow up my cheeks like a blow fish so she could draw a big blue "Y" on my cheek. This is not my most attractive look ever, but I didn't care. I was glad to show my team spirit.

We packed up all our stuff and then walked over to the stadium. Devin had fun sitting on the ground between the bleacher seats playing with his toys before the game started. What a cutie.

Here's part of the group with Tyler, Emily, Aunt Sandy, Uncle Robert and some of their friends and family.

Here's our crew. Nick, Dad, Mom, & Me.

During half time, the band created a big ribbon to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month. They had breast cancer survivors and their families stand inside the outline of the ribbon and then they released a bunch of pink balloons. That was pretty cool.

If you didn't get to watch the game...be grateful! It was AWFUL. BYU played horribly and we left after the 3rd quarter b/c we were so behind and it was just so bad. I was so sad they lost.

While we were walking out of the stadium, we walked past the BYU's big 18 wheeler truck and this was on the side of it. Too bad this little decal on the side of it isn't true! (I'm making my sad face).

There was one cool thing that happened while we were leaving the stadium. This kid who was probably a Freshman at TCU walked past us and yelled at us once we were past, "How about a quest for a new F-ing religion?" A lot of the BYU fans were wearing shirts that said "The Quest" on them, and he really did say the whole F word. I turned around to give him a nasty look just in time to see a cop that was standing nearby walk over, grab him by the arm, and tell him to watch his language. I heard the kid apologize to the cop. I thought that was very cool and upstanding of that cop to do that! Good for him!

All in all, it was depressing that BYU played so bad, but I still had a blast. The tailgating party was awesome and all during the game I was yelling and just enjoying myself. It made me miss my college days at BYU. Thanks, Mom & Dad for taking me and making it so nice and fun for us. Also, it was so nice of Mary & Jesse to watch Autumn for me. They picked her up at daycare and everything. There were 2 or 3 times during the night where Mom and I looked at each other and both said we were glad Autumn wasn't there. Not that I don't love her to pieces, b/c she really is the most important person in my life, but it was so nice to not have to keep her entertained and try to keep track of her the whole night. It was such a treat to just relax and be free to do what I wanted instead of being a Mom.

I am glad you had such a good time you deserved it. I am jealous though I wish they were near me so I could go to a game. Soon enough.

I'm glad I got to see some pictures. Kerry didn't take any, his phone went dead.
