Tonight is our ward Trunk-Or-Treat. I got out a few costumes to see which one I was going to have Autumn wear. I found my witch costume from when I was 3 and had her try that on (see previous post). She loved wearing it so much that she even took a nap in it b/c she would NOT let me take it off!
Here's our Super Hero Superman, Snow White, and Piglet! SO CUTE!
The trunk-or-treat was over at the Jones' house. Their home is so gorgeous (Curt Johnson built it) and it looks like a mansion. Here we are just in front of the entrance, this isn't even showing 1/3rd of the house!
Here's little Autumn Bottom w/ Jessie and her 2 cousins that dressed up as triplet babies.
They had this little train ride, which was so cute. Bill Mannewitz (Jessie's grandpa) built this for his grandkids, but let the ward use it for the party. It's water barrels w/ holes carved in the side and all hooked together! So creative! The train was attached to the back of a golf cart and they drove the kids up and down the driveway. Autumn had a BLAST!
They also had a cotton candy machine, and Autumn insisted on carrying her cotton candy around. I'm pretty sure a few pieces got dropped on the ground, but she would not let go of that thing. What a sticky mess, but she was happy!
They also had a cake walk, and that's where Autumn wanted to spend the majority of the night. She thought it was so cool to walk around and step on the numbers. The Jones' also have a trampoline that is at ground level and Autumn spent a lot of time on that as well.
I thought that Pres. Jones had one of the best costumes...doesn't he look like a total Sherlock Holmes complete w/ an authentic looking coat and pipe.
Kathy Berrett (my boss' wife) and Sis. Jones (Cruella DeVil) also had awesome costumes. Once it got dark, the party kept going and going, and we were going to leave b/c our little Superman and Piglet were getting grouchy and tired. But, right when we were ready to leave they finally started the Trunk-Or-Treat. I had to carry Autumn and her bag for most of it. I had tried teaching her to say Trick-Or-Treat this whole week, but she didn't learn to say it so I said it for her. One really funny thing is that I would tell her to say "thank you" and she did at every single trunk, but she did it in sign language, so no one could see it! I was proud of her for being so thankful, though! It was a really fun night, and I appreciate so much all the people on the activities committee, b/c I know how much work goes into planning and preparing and pulling off something like that!
Then we went home to the best dinner ever...I had requested roladen for my birthday dinner. Roladen is a German dish that is onions, bacon, and mustard rolled up in thin slices of beef and cooked with a great gravy sauce. The mustard part sounds gross, and I am NOT a fan of mustard, but you don't even taste the mustard and it is SOOO GOOD! We waited and had that for dinner tonight instead of last night, b/c Dad had to work last night. What a fun birthday weekend!
