I am NOT a doormat

asdf

I am not by any means trying to toot my own horn or brag, but I have been told that I am a benevolent person, always thing of others before myself.  Well, I’m getting tired of being a doormat.  I think there is a difference between being kind and benevolent and letting people walk all over you.  As of late, I’ve been letting someone walk all over me and I am fed up with it.  It’s my own stupid fault, so I really have no one to blame but myself.  My only dilemma here is that I want to pull the rug out from under this person so they can’t keep using me, but if I do that, then I know they will think I’m a jerk and that I’m a rotten person, even though that is SO far from the truth.  I have done nothing but help this person even though they’ve treated me like a doormat.  So, do I keep being nice for 11 more days or do I say ENOUGH and pull the plug on them now and leave them to pick up the pieces of their own mess?  UGH…sometimes it really sucks being such a nice person and having a conscience about it.

It's hard to advise when not much is known.. details... well, they make a difference. Pray, think, and try to not let your heart or head rule too much. Good luck!

I don't know what is going on, but you know that you can always reach out to me.

That said, there is a difference with thinking of others and letting them walk all over you. Creating boundaries for people is so important in relieving stress in your life. Don't worry about if someone thinks you are a jerk. Chances are their opinion does not reflect the norm.

Be strong!

I think you've always been this way (too nice!) Definitely don't let anyone walk all over you, but if it's temporary, some level of tolerance is excusable, but not the doormat part!

We're headed to TX for thanksgiving this Friday (tomorrow.) Scott says we'll be in your area around lunch on Saturday, so if you're interested in maybe meeting up for lunch or something, let me know! I'll send you my info on FB.
