This morning I had to go to a Primary Meeting at 9:00 am to find out who my new class is going to be. I get to teach the 4 year olds that are turning 5 this year. I’m excited. Anyways, after I got back Autumn & I went outside and fed Gigi the Goat, jumped on the trampoline, and then Autumn needed a little nap. After her nap, we went to lunch w/ Mom to get our regular N8 at Yum Yum To Go. They know us by name now and don’t even ask us what we want to order. They just say, “the usual?” and we say yes and they know exactly what they mean. Here’s Autumn & I waiting for the food to come. It is SO GOOD and Autumn loves it, too. That girl has some odd tastes for an almost 2 year old, but I’m glad that she is open to trying different foods. I’m going to try and keep that instilled in her to always try something new and to appreciate diversity in food, people, culture, etc.
After that, we went to get the car washed b/c I had a free coupon from when I got my oil changed. Autumn FREAKED OUT when the brushes started hitting the car. She did NOT like it at all. I kept telling her it was OK and we were just trying to make the car nice and clean. I held her hand and she was a little better, but was not completely OK until after we were out of the car wash. Poor thing! Next time I’ll have to go when she’s not in the car.
We stopped by Sonic to get a 1/2 price happy hour Lemonberry Slush. SO GOOD! Then we headed over to the park. It was 75 degrees today w/ a light breeze. It was so nice and felt like a spring day. Autumn had a blast playing and running around. I need to take her to the park more often, b/c she likes it so much and it’s nice to be outside.
After the park we went to WalMart to get another mattress pad and sheets for Autumn’s bed b/c she had a HUGE blow out last night where it went up her front, up her back, out the sides, etc. She only has one mattress pad and sheet, so she had to sleep w/ me after I gave her a bath. But I want to have another set ready to go so we don’t have to wait for the sheets to be washed before she can sleep in her own bed again.
This is where the title of this blog post comes into play. When we turned into our subdivision on the way home, I noticed some little bikes on the side of the road in front of a house next to some other garbage. When we got home we walked over to the house to see if we could have the bikes. We knocked and no one answered, so we went around to the backyard b/c I could see lights on inside and there were cars in the driveway. The family was sitting in the backyard eating dinner. I interrupted them and asked them if they minded if we took the bikes. They said of course we could have them. They also said they had a box of stuffed animals and children’s books that they were going to take to Goodwill and asked if we wanted those as well! They said they would load the bikes in their van and drive it all over to our house! They were SO NICE and I feel like I hit the jackpot.
Now I have a great gift (that was free) to give Autumn for her birthday. I also found some killer deals at WalMart on some clothes for Autumn for her birthday.
Autumn tried out the Strawberry Shortcake trike, and wouldn’t you know she tipped over w/in 1 minute of being on it. I’ll have to get her a helmet and knee pads! Poor little bug.
Here’s the Princess bike that we also inherited. This one will have to be put away until her birthday.
Here’s the box of books that we also got. There are A LOT of nice books in there.
Here’s the box of stuffed animals. I seriously am still just kind of in shock of what a great surprise it was. Those people were SO NICE and instead of just getting one bike, we got a ton of nice things for free. I love recycling and just hope I can pay it forward someday to someone else.
This is one of the great finds I got at WalMart. This was on the clearance rack and was only $8, so I bought a size 4T so Autumn can hopefully wear it now (she’s only a 3T), but also grow into over the next year and beyond if possible. The reason I’m posting this is that we used Rufio’s Christmas money to Autumn to buy this dress and Rufio wanted to see a picture of it. THANKS, RUFIO!
