This morning was like our normal Saturday mornings…watching the Disney Channel, playing in the living room, and having cereal for breakfast. Today, though, we went upstairs and were “working out” w/ Dad. Autumn found this Cinderella puzzle, so she was “helping” me put it together.
Autumn went down for a little nap and I got cleaned up. Then we headed to the mall in Mesquite to go to Torrid. My cousin, Josh, gave me a gift certificate there about 3 Christmases ago and I had forgotten about it until I was cleaning out my purse a few weeks ago and found it. So, I looked up the closest one online and it was in Mesquite. Autumn was actually pretty good in the store and she helped me decide on these AWESOME shoes.
This picture doesn’t do them justice, so you can go here to check them out on the Torrid website (they only have them in black on the website). They have a huge heel on them (4 inch), but are SO DANG COMFORTABLE! And I’ve been looking for a good pair of red shoes. I can wear these w/a dress or just w/ jeans. As soon as I put them on, I knew I had to have them. They made me feel so sexy and alive (sing the song “I feel like a woman” by Shania Twain in your head at this point). It’s hard to explain unless you’ve had that experience of finding a pair of shoes that were just meant for you. I went up to pay for them and they were HALF OFF! WOO HOO! I was thrilled to say the least. Especially since even the website shows them for full price.
THANK YOU SO MUCH, JOSH!!! LOVE YA!
After that, I figured Autumn needed a break from her stroller so we went and found a place in the middle of the mall for kids to play on. They had the cutest set up and things to play on. I love this look on her face, “Mom, come on now. Are you seriously having me ride a turtle? Don’t you know they’re like the slowest animals ever?”
It took her a while to warm up and go play on the other toys. She kind of clung to my leg for a little bit while she observed the other kids and assessed the situation. What a little thinker. “Oh, no! Baby Autumn overboard!”
I was actually glad that she wanted to stay close to me b/c of a nightmare I had last night. I dreamt that we were at a mall and there was a big tree house type thing for the kids to play on (I think it’s at University Mall in Provo). I dreamt that I was watching Autumn play when all of a sudden she ran around the tree and didn’t come out the other side. I got up to go see where she was and she was gone! I looked in the tree, I looked around it and she was nowhere to be found. I started screaming at the top of my lungs that my daughter had just been kidnapped. The mall police came and asked me if I had a current picture of her (which of course I had one in my camera from just that morning) and they printed it off and hung it up all over the mall and put out an Amber Alert. I was sobbing uncontrollable tears and my heart actually physically hurt from not knowing if I would ever see her again. At that point I woke up from the dream and had real tears streaming down my cheeks. That was a HORRIBLE nightmare that I hope I NEVER have again. And more than that, it’s a nightmare that I pray I NEVER have to live through. I’ve never felt so awful in my life than I did in that dream.
Anyways, I kept a close eye on Autumn and was never more than an arm’s reach away from her. She was climbing all over this little plastic bonfire. Then I told her it was fire.
Look at her cute little smile as she realizes it’s supposed to be fire and she runs away from it. This was one of the cutest kids play place in a mall that I’ve ever seen. They had a bridge, cars that were slides, a tent to crawl through, etc.
After she played for a while we went over to Bath & Body Works b/c they are having their huge sale. I got some bubble bath for Mom (and Autumn) for only $5 a bottle when it’s usually $9.50. They also have their antibacterial hand soap for only $3 and their wall flower plug in smellies for only $5. We didn’t stay there long b/c Autumn was turning into a little stinker and the fruit snacks I brought only kept her occupied for so long.
I got her out in the car and before we could even pull out she was already looking like this w/ the droopy eyes thing. I thought it was funny how she had her arm propped up behind her head.
We got home and I noticed that Dad had planted these p0insettas out in the garden. I thought they looked really pretty in the dead garden. They were so red and vibrant and alive (kind of like how my red shoes made me feel).
I just thought this was a cool sepia picture of the old shed in the garden w/ the antique ox yoke and chains hanging on the side of it.
