Cheddars

IMG_8568 Today Don came into work and said he wanted to go to Cheddars tonight to introduce all of us to the most amazing dessert. He even called Mom at home to see if she would watch Autumn for me so I could go out. He came over at 7:00 and danced around the living room w/ Autumn while we watched ballroom dancing (see Autumn’s blog here for the video). Anyways, we met up w/ Liz & Liberty at Cheddar’s at 8:00. We all loved the cool tropical looking fans they had in there.

IMG_8559 We sat and talked and for a while and then ordered our food. Don got a salad and a scrumptious honey buttered croissant. Liz kept saying, “Mmm. Mmm. That looks good.” So, Don let her have a taste of his croissant, and it really was good.

IMG_8560 Liz & Liberty are SO MUCH FUN to be around. I am sure the other people in the restaurant must have thought we were all drunk b/c we were laughing so hard. Liz kept singing and telling funny stories and I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time. Some of the things she would say to the waiter were hilarious, too.

IMG_8566 At one point in the night, I was laughing so hard that I spilled a whole cup of water right into my lap…ice and all! This picture pretty much captures how we spent the majority of the night…laughing hysterically. Don & I shared a rack of ribs and they were really good. I was surprised at how reasonable the prices at Cheddar’s were.

IMG_8567 This, however, was the whole reason we went to Cheddar’s…for the Cookie Monster. It’s a cookie baked in a little skillet topped w/ fudge, ice cream, and whipped cream. It was PHENOMENAL! Don said that the person that introduced him to the Cookie Monster told said, “I feel like a better person when I eat it.” I would have to agree, b/c it was THAT good.

After dinner, we went over to Liz & Liberty’s so Don could see what their apartment looked like. Then we watched a slide show of Liz & Liberty’s cruise pictures. They went to the same places we went on our family cruise back in August of 2006. It was fun to see their pictures and relive all those good memories. By this time it was 10:00 and we were all tired so Don & I left and he brought me home.

It was such a fun evening out. I am so appreciative to Mom for watching Autumn for me. I am also so thankful to have such good friends where we all have the same values, have the same sense of humor, have so much in common, etc. I loved being out w/ Don and Liz and Liberty and getting to enjoy some adult conversation and some incredible food. I am a lucky and blessed girl.
