Yesterday I had just finished eating my breakfast of frosted shredded wheat cereal w/ skim milk when I felt like I had something stuck between my teeth. I went in the bathroom to get it out w/ some floss when I realized it wasn’t food at all…part of my tooth was chipped off!!! I pushed on it and it hurt really bad and started bleeding a little bit. I called the dentist right away and set an appointment for this morning.
I got there and they took me right back. They took an x-ray and then gave me the bad news…I had to get a root canal and a crown…and it wasn’t going to be cheap. But what choice did I have, part of my tooth was missing. So, we did the root canal today, and I thought for sure the power was going to out b/c it was raining and lightning and thundering so bad. Even the dentist asked her assistant to go find the flashlights just in case. I’m really lucky, b/c I don’t hate going to the dentist. Now, it’s not something that I enjoy, but I’m not afraid of it. The root canal really wasn’t that bad. The only part that hurt was when they poured this hot stuff into the post they put in there. But other than that, it wasn’t bad at all. As soon as I got done, I headed off to work. I kind of liked having a numb lip.
I’m so thankful for modern technology. I mean what did people do in the olden days? I guess they just had to pull their teeth out. All I can say is thank goodness for Novocain!
Today when I got home from work, Mom came over and we watched Survivor. Is anyone else SOOOOOO glad that Coach got voted off? Oh my gosh, he is ANNOYING! Good riddens! Anyways, after Mom left Autumn and I went out on a walk around the ponds. We checked the mail when we got back and there was a package in the mailbox for me from Jonesy! Inside was this CD she made me of trampoline tunes and some of my FAVORITE chocolates ever along with a sweet note. It was such a sweet surprise and totally made my whole day.
I can’t even begin to express how thankful I am for her and the amazing influence she has had in my life. She trained me on my mission and has always been such a good example to me of love, kindness, compassion, service, and everything else that is good. Just one example is that she volunteered all the time to watch Autumn for me when I was married to Jason and lived in Utah so that he and I could go out on dates. I can never repay her for all that she has done for me. Heavenly Father has blessed me with so many wonderful and incredible friends.
LOVE YOU, JONESY!!!

Seriously, yay for technology! I've been thinking about that more and more since my knee surgery, if someone tore their ACL 100 years ago, doctors wouldn't have gone in and replaced it, that person just wouldn't have been able to run or play sports!
I'll never forget the time I spent the night with Lexie and you were cracking me up with a story about a worm or something.
