When Liz & Liberty were over on Saturday, they found this HUGE looking ant walking by the pool. Liberty hit it about 28 times with a shoe, but this thing would NOT die! It just kept getting up after each hit. They caught it and brought it into work so one of the techs could identify what it is. It’s a velvet ant or "cow killer", which is really a wasp. I guess they’re kind of rare. It was fun having him as a “pet” for a few days, but then we went and let him go outside.
Mom called me today to tell me that Dad had gone and picked up Autumn from daycare b/c he wanted to spend some time w/ her before they went out of town (can you say SPOILED???). I went over to their house after work to pick her up.
I also went to see Mom’s new clothes. I guess Dad had said he would get her a new dress for Haley’s wedding, so he took her shopping. He ended up spending quite a bit of money on her so she could get some new clothes. I of course made Mom do a “show and tell” so I could see what she got. I thought it was the sweetest thing for Dad to do that for Mom! She said she felt like she was on the show, “What Not To Wear” b/c the ladies in the store fussed over her and Dad had her show him all of the outfits and would tell her what looked good. I’m so glad she got to have that experience and for Dad to spoil her a little bit!
Anyways, she wanted to go to Cheddar’s to get their Asian salad. It was SOOOOOOOO good. We got our usual cookie monster and Autumn decided that she wanted to use all 3 spoons at once and wouldn’t take them out of her mouth for the picture…little stinker.
Autumn & I left straight from Cheddar’s and went over to Alison & Braulio’s apartment for game night. They ordered pizza and then we played Catch Phrase. It was SO MUCH FUN! We were laughing so hard and had the greatest time. I’m surprised their neighbor’s didn’t come knock on the door and tell us to keep it down. Their apartment is decorated so cute and they are such an adorable couple.
By the time the game was over, it was 9:00 and I needed to get Autumn home to bed. Liz & Liberty left w/ us and as we were walking to our cars, Alison came out on their patio and said she had made brownies and she wanted us to take some w/ us. So, they wrapped them up in napkins and threw them down to Liberty from the 3rd floor! They were SOOOOOOO amazing and SOOOOOOO worth it, b/c they were super chocolately and gooey and not quite cooked the whole way through. YUM! It was such a fun evening!
