Labor Day 2009

I was so glad that I didn’t have work today.  I decided that since it was Labor Day, I might as well do some labor and make good use of my day off.  I got up and got busy cleaning.  I was worried that Autumn was going to be following me around and getting in my way, but she didn’t at all.  She was really good and stayed in the living room arranging her “babies” on the couch while I cleaned.  I vacuumed the carpets, mopped the floors (which I am ashamed to admit have not been mopped since we moved in…hey don’t judge), vacuumed out the car, put away all the clean clothes (I had about 2 piles of clean clothes piled up in a chair in my room…again, don’t judge) and cleaned Autumn’s room.  It felt so good to get things checked off my list of things to do.

Around 11:00 Mom called and said we should go out to lunch.  So, Autumn & I got cleaned up and she came and picked us up and we went to Cheddar’s.  I had put her hair in a little “bubble bun” and she thought she was such hot stuff.  She also had to have her purse just like Mama & Mimi.  I got the Asian Chicken salad and Mom got the shrimp.  Autumn was super hungry b/c she ate a lot of mine and also Mom’s food.

After we ate, we stopped in at Nick’s work to say hi.  Autumn had to get one of the little kid’s carts, which was not the best idea b/c I had to keep putting my foot out so she wouldn’t run into stuff, but she did pretty good considering she’s only 2.  If you notice, she had to put her Ariel doll and purse in there.  We got some grapes b/c they were on sale and then went to see Dad at the clinic.

Autumn kept feeding Dad grapes, and I’m surprised she didn’t turn into a grape b/c she ate so many of them.  I knew she liked grapes, but I didn’t know she liked them that much!  It was fun to see Dad and watch the two of them interact.

After that we went back to Mom & Dad’s to just relax and watch Pocahontas.  I was checking emails and I looked over to see what Autumn was doing and she had taken her chair over by the TV and turned it around backwards and was just staring at the TV so intently.

When Mom finally took us home, Autumn got in her car seat and was ZONKED OUT!  We didn’t do anything really exciting today, but it was fun and we enjoyed ourselves.

I hope everyone had a good Labor Day.  I am so thankful that I CAN work and that I have a good job where I get to work with good people.
