This morning we got up and got dressed and came over to Mom & Dad’s. We had waffles for breakfast and then Dad took some boxes of stuff to Goodwill b/c they are cleaning out the living room and kitchen drawers before the make over on Monday. I watched Autumn & Andrew. We went outside and put some music on the laptop and this is a picture of Andrew’s sweet dance moves.
Dad called to say he was bringing home some new patio furniture from Costco that he and Mom had seen last week and wanted. I am laying on the ground b/c I had to get under the table to tighten some screws. It was quite the project and kept us busy.
While we were doing that, Curt called and said to bring the kids over b/c he had a surprise to show them. The kids headed straight for the big tree house. They had a blast climbing up to the very top level and waving to us that were down below.
This is the surprise he wanted to show the kids…he had gotten 3 baby geese. We had so much fun sitting in the grass just watching them and playing with them. It was so cute b/c anywhere that we would walk, they would follow us like we were their Mama.
Curt’s dogs had puppies and they are almost ready to be sold. One of them was being so cute & playful with Ashley. It was fun to see them interacting.
We put the dog down to see how he would act w/ the geese. He just sniffed them and was looking like he was going to ignore them when all of a sudden he grabbed this goose by the neck in his mouth and tried to run off. Ashley grabbed the dog and made him let go of the poor little goose. I guess they can’t be friends!
We finally decided to head back home and noticed this cool old truck that Curt & the boys are rebuilding. I told them to go stand by it and Lexie said to strike a pose and Autumn copied her. Lexie & I were talking about how today was the epitome of Spring b/c what else says Spring like baby geese, puppies, 75 degree weather w/ a light breeze?
Papa & Andrew had fun playing in the sand together and cleaning the pool. They are good buddies. We sat outside under the awesome new patio and enjoyed the weather while we ate some lunch.
Dad wanted to try out the pool and see if it was ready for swimming yet. He said it was brisk and refreshing.
But, the rest of us weren’t as brave as him and just got in the hot tub instead of in the pool first. We had such a fun surprise when Mr. William came through our back gate. We loved living across the street from them back when Dad was in the military. The kids had so much fun walking around the hot tub and “swimming” back and forth to Dad & I. The more they were in the water, the braver they got.
After we got out, we got a phone call from Curt saying he needed help lifting a massive hot tub onto a slab. We all went over to help and that this was HEAVY, but we were able to do it. It’s a NIIIIICE hot tub and has 10 jets in every seat w/ jets in the middle for your feet. I hope they’ll invite us over to try it.
While we were there, the kids had to go show Papa the baby geese and the tree house. Autumn was brave when Papa was there and even got on the tire swings, but wouldn’t do it for anyone else. She wasn’t too sure about being in the big tire swing by herself (on the right hand side) and started crying when she got too high and wanted to get out.
We rushed home from Curt & Mary’s and grabbed a sandwich for dinner and headed out to the ball park for a baseball game. The weather was perfect (again, the epitome of Spring) and was even better when the sun went behind the building so we had some shade and didn’t have to look into its rays.
My favorite part of the game though, was watching one of the pictures from the Corpus Christi team. His name is Matt Nevarez and he’s 6’4”, 220 lbs and GOOOOOD LOOKING! I was going to go over at the end of the game and ask to get a picture w/ him (there is a sign on the left hand side of this picture that says no autographs during the game). But, right at the bottom of the 7th inning I turned around to see if he was still there and he was out on the field pitching! DANG IT! Oh,well. I just admired him from afar.
Dad splurged on us and got us drinks and funnel cake (unheard of!!!) and I am so glad Lexie & Jon came w/ us. It was their anniversary this weekend and we always love having them and Andrew come spend time with us. We left the game at the bottom of the 8th b/c the score was 9 to 1 (we were losing), so I never got my picture w/ Matt. Anyways, we got home and the kids were wide awake b/c they had gone to sleep at 6:30 and slept until 8:30. We watched Avatar (I had never seen it before), but I was busy blogging and at midnight I couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer, so Autumn & I went & slept on the bed in Mom & Dad’s closet. It was fun filled day.
