Shrek Ever After

After work today, Autumn & I came over to Mom & Dad’s to spend time w/ Lex & Andrew.  Mom was SO HAPPY b/c the electrician came today and she got a new light fixture above the island.

But, the best part was that he installed the new ovens and stove!  So, we were able to eat our first official  meal in the newly done kitchen.  This stovetop is cool b/c the controls are electronic and are in the bottom right hand corner of the flat top stove.  We had noodles and prime rib mushroom soup for dinner w/ grapes and cherries for dessert (gotta get those servings of fruits in every day).  It’s so nice to have Mom’s kitchen “back in business.”

After eating, Dad said he wanted to take us all to go see Shrek 4.  None of us complained and were more than happy to go.  We were teasing Andrew and telling him when we got there that we were really going to see Sex & The City.  The sad look on his face says it all.

We weren’t too sure how the kids would do, especially since this is Autumn’s first time to go to a movie at the theater.  But, the kids did great and the movie was really cute.  I love that they make it appeal to kids but also have some humor that only adults would understand to make it entertaining for us as well.  After the show we were in the hall to take a picture and right before we did, Autumn leaned over and randomly hit Lexie right in the chest!  That’s why she has her hand up like that and we are laughing so hard!  Where does she learn this stuff?  Must be daycare.

After the movie, we came home to find a treat on the patio table.  It was a plate of cookies and on the other plate written in white it says, “Gracie thanks.”  I thought it was frosting, so I took my pointer finger and scooped up part of the “s” at the end of thanks and put it in my mouth only to discover that it was shaving cream!  EWWW!  NASTY!  I just “had” to eat a few cookies to get the nasty flavor out of my mouth.

By this time it was 9:30 pm, so we came home so I could get Autumn to bed and then I got busy cleaning for our super special visitors we have coming to see us tomorrow.  I vacuumed, mopped, put away the clothes from Aimee, did some laundry, made beds, and am finally crashing and burning at 12:45.  I am so excited about tomorrow that I hope I can fall asleep!
