Curly Q

IMG_6887 This is an almost every day occurrence at Mom & Dad’s house, but today this is a special picture b/c it was taken on a Sunday. And we don’t swim on Sundays so we can keep the Sabbath Day holy, but we made a small exception today.

IMG_6886 Andrew wanted to show Jon how much he had learned at swim lessons the past 2 weeks and that he could jump off the board now. It was too late to show Jon last night, so Dad said we could show Jon this morning. It really is neat that Andrew has come such a long way in such a short amount of time. He used to be afraid of the water and would practically choke us b/c he would hold on so tight to us in the water. But now he jumps off the board and swims to the side.

IMG_6888 Autumn wanted a turn, too. I LOVE this picture b/c I was able to capture her at the perfect spot where she had just jumped off the edge but hadn’t hit the water yet. It’s such a good in motion picture.

IMG_6892 We were telling the kids to use their “birdie arms” to get up to the surface of the water when they jump off the board. So, after using their birdie arms, Dad took them to the backyard to fill up the bird feeders w/ some more seed.

IMG_6913 Autumn wanted her hair curled again today for church, so Lexie put curlers in for her. We rushed home so I could get Autumn dressed and so I could shower and get my stuff for my lesson and then we left for church. Autumn just soaked up all of the oohs and aahs and attention she got from everyone saying how pretty her curls and dress were (thanks Lexie & Jen).

IMG_6915 When we got home from church, I wanted to get some pictures of her b/c I thought she looked so adorable.

IMG_6919 For dinner, Mom made a roast and carrots and potatoes w/ gravy, which was so good. After dinner, the kids wanted to watch a movie, so Papa sat down to watch it w/ them and they both wanted to snuggle with him.

IMG_6923 Autumn wanted to go outside and blow bubbles, so Andrew came too. It was funny b/c Andrew wouldn’t let the excess drip off the wand and so he had drips of bubble solution all down the front of his shirt. But he didn’t care and was completely happy.

IMG_6927 Autumn was also blissfully happy to just stand outside in the heat and blow bubbles into the light breeze. She loved watching them pop as they touched the ground. She could have stayed out there all day, but when I had sweat dripping down my neck I called it quits and made the kids go inside.

IMG_6928 Lexie & Jon got ready to leave to go home and told Andrew he needed to go potty before they got on the road. He had had a small accident in his underpants but all of his clean clothes were packed in the car so they got out a pull up for him to wear instead since Mom had some in the house. He refused to wear them b/c they were girl ones, so Jon got out a Sharpie marker and tried to make them into boy pull ups by drawing some facial hair on the frog. We were laughing so hard and it didn’t work, b/c Andrew still refused to wear them. Luckily Lexie found some pull ups that had Texas Longhorn symbols on them.

IMG_6929 After they left, we just vegged and watched TV for a while. Then Mom wanted to go over to Maggie’s to borrow a book and some movies. Autumn had zonked out on Mom & Dad’s bed, so I left her home w/ Dad & Nick. This was the gorgeous sky that greeted us outside while we drove to Maggie’s. It was so pretty.

IMG_6932This is Maggie’s GINORMOUS cat. I told Noah to sit next to the cat just for a reference of how big the cat really is. It’s the size of a small dog and is as big as a 13 year old boy’s torso. This thing is HUGE! Anyways, we got some movies from Maggie and came home and watched one of them, Bedtime Stories w/ Adam Sandler. It was a cute movie but not one I would buy. I woke Autumn up so she would go back to bed later on tonight. I watched Army Wives, which was very touching tonight and really made me appreciate the sacrifice that not only the soldiers make, but the sacrifices their families make by not having them around while they’re gone defending our country. It was a great Sunday.

I LOVE Autumn's hair and dress! WOW! I have a feeling though that I will HAVE to do her hair in curls everytime I am up there...I don't mind that though b/c I really did have SO much FUN with her!
