Triple Date With Curt

IMG_6574 Today at work it was so slow until the last 10 minutes of work when it got busy all of a sudden.  Anyways, I went and got Autumn from daycare and b/c it was raining, traffic was pretty bad.  We didn’t have time to stop and eat at Mom & Dad’s before going over, so we just ran through Wendy’s and got some $1 burgers to tide us over.  I took my good camera today b/c we were allowed to be in the swim area.  But, b/c it was so humid, my lens fogged over, which is why this picture looks the way it does.

IMG_2807 Five minutes into the lesson, Dad surprised us and came to watch Autumn swim.  He had gone w/ Lexie & Andrew earlier when Andrew swam.  He was so nice and even brought us some fried zucchini that he and Lexie had made for dinner.

IMG_6585 Autumn does really well about jumping off the side, but she tries to keep her head above water all the time.  Ms. Cis (who is amazing) always has to tell her to “Look at the bottom of the pool,” and push her head under the water.  Autumn kept looking over at me & Dad and smiling and talking instead of swimming.  Ms. Cis said, “This is why we only let family come in to observe once a week.”  WHOOPS!

IMG_6593 After swim lessons, we came home and helped Dad make some creamy peas & potatoes for dinner.  He was getting his stuff ready to head out to the Ft. Worth area b/c he is going to be in another cycling race w/ Uncle Robert & Aunt Sandy.  Christine called and asked if I wanted to go see a play in downtown Dallas and that we were leaving in 10 minutes.  I said sure (after I asked Lexie if she could watch Autumn for me), and went and raided Mom’s closet for a nice black skirt and some slip on shoes (which were too small), but I had worn jeans and tennis shoes today and couldn’t wear those to the theater so I made do w/ what Mom had.

IMG_6589 The show started at 8:00 and we didn’t even leave to drive down there until 7:40, and we would have made it on time (b/c Curt’s a fast driver), but there was an accident on the freeway b/c of the rain so we got there a little late.  But, it was really good and soulful.  I want to rent the movie now so I can see the first part of it that we missed.  I left there feeling all sassy and energized.  I think my favorite character was Jimmy when he sang, “Jimmy got soul.”

IMG_6590 After the show, we were all in the mood for a little “nibble,” as Mary put it.  We stopped at Denny’s to get something to eat.  Christine is ALWAYS cold, so she ordered a hot chocolate!  She’s so funny.

IMG_6592 Mary got the tickets for the show from her work, which was so nice.  Curt was joking that he was on a triple date w/ us.  He even paid for our meals, which was so nice.  I just love Curt & Mary so much and someday hope to have the type of relationship w/ my husband that they have.  They are such a cute couple and I am so thankful to have them in my life.

IMG_6597 I got home at 12:30 and Lexie was outside letting Trace (her dog) go to the bathroom.  We were talking and all of a sudden we heard a lamb baaing!  We both were like, “What the heck?”  We kept hearing it, so we went in the house and grabbed some flashlights and went to investigate.  I took a broom w/ us and kept swinging it around in front of me so we didn’t get a spider web in our face or in case we needed to fend off a wild animal.  We went to the south side of the yard where we were hearing the noise, but then all of a sudden we heard it on the north side of the yard.  We eventually got too freaked out and realized it wasn’t a lamb.  The only thing we could think of was maybe it was two frogs that were “talking” to each other, but it definitely sounded like a lamb.  We were laughing so hard and having fun.
THANKS FOR WATCHING AUTUMN FOR ME!!!

We came in the house and watched some Bridal shows and then finally called it a night and went to bed at 2:00 am!  It was a great Friday night out.
