This morning I called over to Mom & Dad’s house to see what time they leave for church so I could come over and get Autumn’s new Christmas dress that Mom bought her a few months ago. I hurried and gave Autumn a bath and got myself ready so we could leave early to go get the dress. A few minutes before we walked out the door, Dad knocked on the door and had come over to bring the dress to us! He’s so wonderful and thoughtful. He even got Autumn in her dress & helped her put on her white frilly socks (which she refuses to wear when I try to put them on her).
This is the only full-length picture I could get of her dress. I was telling her to look up at me so I could take the picture when I noticed that she was looking down at Dad’s hands so she could have her hands look the same as his! She’s so observant and sure enough got her fingers to be intertwined like Papa’s are.
I told her to give Papa a big hug and tell him thank you so much for bringing her pretty new Christmas dress over. I am so glad that they have such a wonderful and special bond. It’s nice for her to have such a positive male influence in her life every day.
After church, we came to our house and had lunch with Mom & Nick. The other day Autumn was making faces and Mom made this one scary face and Autumn wanted her to do it again, so Mom was teaching Autumn how to do it. It was so funny to hear her say, “First stick your fingers up your nose a little bit and then pull down on your eye lids!”
And this is what you get. Autumn hasn’t quite perfected it yet, but she’s getting there. She needs to pull down on her eyelids more.
Mom told me to try it, and I was shocked at how creepy and scary I look when I downloaded the picture on my laptop! And I wonder why I can’t get a date???
Maybe it’s b/c Iook like Madam Mim on Sword In The Stone! LOL! I even happen to be wearing the same colored shirt as her in this picture and both of our eyes are green! Now if only I had periwinkle colored hair!
Anyways, after all that craziness and fun, Mom headed home and Autumn & I stayed at our house for a while so I could do some light cleaning and do some laundry. The house gets neglected when we go to Mom & Dad’s every night. Autumn is so good about keeping herself entertained while I’m bustling around. She put both of her dolls in her recliner and covered them up w/ a blanket and then asked me to put on Dumbo so they (and she) could have something to watch.
It felt good to get some things done around the house, especially since it means I won’t have such a big task ahead of me on Saturday when I try to clean for my Primary class Christmas party at my house. After watching Dumbo, Pocahontas, and the Princess & The Frog we went over to Mom & Dad’s so I could use the internet.
We watched football and Mom had made a big pot of soup, which was so good since it’s so cold lately. Autumn came and snuggled up next to me on the love seat and was asleep in 2 minutes! Since it was already 8:00, I just took her home and hoped that she would sleep. But, she woke up enough on the way home that she wasn’t ready for bed yet. She played while we watched Undercover Boss (I totally cried a few times when they were talking about 9/11) and then she was finally ready for bed. This weekend went by too fast and it’s already time for another work week.
