Autumn got herself dressed this morning and even let me fix her hair in pigtails. I LOVE it when she lets me put these cute bows in her hair. I think she looks so stinkin’ cute!
I left work at 2:15 and drove down to the Dallas temple to be at Michael & Elizabeth’s sealing at 3:00. I was emotional even before the ceremony started. I wondered if Tara was there. It made me miss her so much. But, I am also so happy for Michael and that he was able to find someone to share the rest of his life with. No one from Tara’s immediate family was able to be there, so I felt as if I was there as her sister. It was a very sweet and spiritual experience for me.
I stopped and got Autumn on the way home and she was so happy to get to leave an hour and a half earlier than usual. She filled that extra time with lots of fun. She and Andrew were pretty brave and would jump off into the deep end to Uncle Nate.
Then they had fun standing in the “water rainbow” to cool off.
They had Nate stand on the edge of the hot tub with them and they were all going to jump together, but Nate didn’t jump and they were so shocked and surprised when he pulled them back out of the water. It was really comical to watch.
Here’s our “Goggle Guys”. Andrew would throw some diving rings to the bottom of the shallow end and then had Uncle Nate help him swim down to get them. He’s been doing really well in the pool.
After the kids swam for a while, it was time for the real fun. Nate finally got to take a ride in the Corvette. Plus, Dad did something we didn’t think he would do…he let Nate drive it! We were happy that they both came home w/ no accidents or speeding tickets to report about.
Liz & Liberty came over to pick me up so we could go to Michael & Elizabeth’s reception. Liz asked if she could touch Lexie’s belly and Lexie said sure, if she could touch Liz’s. They were laughing about what a “touching” moment it was. The two cute pregnant ladies.
Before we headed to the reception (we figured we could just show up fashionably late), we stopped at a little sno cone shack near their house to get this new drink that Liz loves. It’s called a creamsicle and you can get in all sorts of flavors. I got the Hawaiian one. It was incredibly tasty and had cream, syrup, soda water and ice.
While I was at the reception, Lexie & Dad took the kids to swim lessons. They were able to go in and watch them tonight. This is Ms. Cis and we just love her. Lexie said Autumn did pretty good.
We got to the reception late, but there was still lots of food. And it was super good food! My favorite was the coconut encrusted chicken w/ a mango and pineapple chutney.
It was so sweet when Michael & Elizabeth had their first dance. Their song is “Let It Be Me” by Ray LaMontagne and it was perfect for them and their situation. It warmed my hear to see them so happy and in love.
Liz was eating and broke one of her plastic forks. I went and got her another one and a few minutes later, she broke another one! And as you can see, it flipped some ranch dressing all over her glasses and hair. She couldn’t find one of the prongs of the fork until she was eating her salad and chomped down on it. Liberty and I were laughing so hard!
These were the center pieces and I thought they were so pretty. The whole reception was pretty and nice. The cupcakes were good, too. I wish them both great things and every happiness.
I got home and Lexie was helping the kids do a Cars sticker book game. They all went and saw Cars 2 earlier today. I could not keep my eyes open anymore, so Autumn & I went home at 10:30 and as soon as my head hit the pillow, I was out like a light.
