Silly Sunday

IMG_2810 I was able to talk Autumn into wearing her 4th of July dress to church today, even though she didn’t want to at first.  I realized we haven’t been taking our self portraits on Sunday mornings like we usually do, so I took one today.  This was the best one I could get (so maybe that’s why I quit taking them).  Autumn is usually making some silly face and she likes to squish her face into mine so I look weird.  Oh, well.  That’s just keeping it real…not every picture is a beautiful masterpiece.

IMG_2812 When Autumn & I got home from church, we had some surprise visitors.  Mom & Lexie & Andrew came over for lunch.  The kids looked so cute all dressed up in their church clothes.  You can see where Andrew got a little bit of a fat lip from where he hit the diving board.

IMG_2813Of course we had to do the kissing cousins picture.

After we ate, the kids went in Autumn’s room to play and Mom came in and laid on my bed so she could talk to Nate on the phone in peace and quiet.  That didn’t last long at all b/c Lexie & I came in and laid down on the bed w/ her.  It was so fun to be sandwiched between Mom & then Lexie’s baby belly while we talked and laughed.  We watched the last 1/2 of My Best Friend’s Wedding which as on TV.  Dad took the kids home in the Batmobile b/c they wanted a frozen Go-gurt, which are at his house.

IMG_2817 Gracie Berrett brought brownies to thank Dad for doing a sports physical for her.  They were so thick and chewy and scrumptious.  Then Mom & Dad’s home teachers came over.  We had egg roll left overs for dinner, and Nick was scarfing his down w/out even tasting or enjoying them so Lexie pretended to flick him on the ear.  But, she was closer than she thought and did end up hitting his ear.  Andrew saw it happen and told her she had to go sit in time out for hitting!  We were laughing so hard, especially when Lexie actually went and sat in time out for a few minutes.  We were teasing her and told her we’ll set the time for 28 minutes (1 minute for how old she is).

Curt came over to say hi and even brought us some homemade gumbo.  I spent the rest of the evening playing a Pyramid building game on the iPad.  It was bad b/c I did nothing else the rest of the night and was so involved and consumed by the game.  Mom finally made me turn it off and take Autumn home so she could go to bed at a decent hour.
