This morning my body just automatically woke me up at 7:00, which is the usual time I wake up during the week for work. I got cleaned up and then Autumn woke up and we had some breakfast and she asked me to paint her toenails blue so they would match mine. We sat and talked to Nick until he left at 7:40 to pick up Sariah so they could go on a morning date to Ihop for breakfast. We are so excited for him and hope they can keep going on lots of dates. Autumn & I went over to Mom & Dad’s and Mom watched her for me so I could go to the temple. The session was good and I felt so bad for this one lady who cried through the whole thing. We happened to be standing at the table in the dressing room at the same time and I put my arm around her and gave her a hug (even though I didn’t know her) and asked her if she was OK. She said she was just having a hard time b/c her Mother is dying and lives in Idaho and loves going to the temple but she can’t anymore and being in the temple just made this lady miss her Mom. I wished there was something I could say to make her feel better but all I could come up with was that it was good she was at the temple today.
I went over to Mom & Dad’s after the temple to see what everyone was up to. Mom pointed out how Autumn & I were wearing the same type of dress b/c it has black trim at the neck and at the empire waist. I hadn’t noticed that when Autumn insisted on wearing this dress today. Oh well, I like being twinners w/ such a cute little bug.
I had stopped on the way home from the temple and got Little Caesar’s pizza for lunch along w/ 2 crazy breads and 4 sauces so we could all have our own sauces. Mom & Autumn can each eat a whole thing of crazy bread by themselves. After we ate, Autumn found these empty soda can boxes and put them on her legs and was walking around pretending to be a robot. She is always making me laugh and smile at the cute things she says and does.
She even talked Papa & I into playing princess hopscotch with her. However, she doesn’t really know how to play it and had the time of her life just jumping around on the squares w/ no rhyme or reason. We watched Fried Green Tomatoes b/c Mom has never seen it before. It’s such a good movie. Steel Magnolias is still my all time favorite strong southern woman movie, and is in my top 5 favorite movies of all time. But Fried Green Tomatoes is still good for my soul when I watch it.
We spent the majority of the afternoon just hanging out and watching TV. Autumn was a total sweetheart and went around and lotioned Mimi’s feet, then Papa’s feet, then my feet. I would put a little bit of Baby Magic lotion in the palm of her hand and she would run around between the three of us and rub it on and then move on to the next person. It wasn’t a long massage, but it felt so good. I told her she could be a great little masseuse when she grows up. That kept her busy and entertained for a long time and us grown ups didn’t mind at all.
At 5:30 we were all hungry and Mom didn’t want to cook and we needed to get a few groceries at the store anyways, so we went to our favorite Italian restaurant. The cream sauce on this pasta is out-of-this-world good. I kept taking bites and waving my fork around like I was conducting a song b/c it was so incredible.
After we ate, we went to WalMart to get a few things. There was this little girl that had taken one of the plastic sacks you put fruits and veggies in and blew it up and tied a knot and hit it up into the air like a balloon. I thought that looked like something fun for Autumn to try and so I made one for her. It worked like a charm and kept her entertained the whole time we were in the store. I just had to make sure she stayed by the cart so she wouldn’t run into people. I will definitely be doing that every time I have to take her to the store.
We came home and Autumn & I didn’t stay long b/c we had to get home so we could get up for church in the morning. Plus I was super tired from being up so late last night and then getting up at 7:00 this morning.
