Today after work I was going to go work again for Christine, but she said she was going to one of her kids’ football games and we’d do it some other night. So, I took Autumn and we went and did some shopping. We went to Payless b/c Autumn really needed some new school shoes. We found a pair and she was so excited to wear them that as soon as we had paid for them and got outside, she sat down on the sidewalk and took the tag off the new shoes and put them on.
Mom & Dad had gone to a movie and out to dinner, so Autumn & I went over to their house and had leftovers from last night. We watched 2 recorded episodes of The Middle. I laughed so hard during the episode where the Mom eats her son’s toenails. It was a super funny episode. Mom & Dad got home from dinner and we watched yesterday’s recorded episode of Modern Family. It was a good one and had us laughing. It was already 8:30 by this time, so Autumn & I got in the car to go home. As we were backing out of the driveway, we saw a snake go across the driveway in front of the car. He wasn’t super big, but we called Dad to tell him. He came out w/ a flashlight, but by that time the snake had slithered off into these plants. He went and got a bat to try and push the plants around to see if the snake would come back out so we could see if it was poisonous or not. But, the snake never did come back out.
This is the reason we had to get Autumn some new shoes. Her old one is on the left. The front part of it is all torn apart and there are threads coming off the laces. She is so hard on shoes. We got the new ones on sale for $12.99, and I hope they last. I was surprised to see that Payless sold white tennis shoes for kids. Why on earth would anyone buy those? Autumn would have shoes like that dirty in 30 minutes flat.
Since it was BOGO 1/2 off, I got these cute shoes for only $4.50. It’s so depressing for me to buy shoes, b/c I see how many cute styles and options there are in size 9, and even size 10. But I get to size 11 and 12 (which is what I wear, depending on the shoe) and it’s all ugly nurse or orthopedic shoes. I was surprised these fit, b/c they’re only a size 10.
Before we went shoe shopping, we stopped at Bath & Body Works b/c I wanted to return 2 things I got back in the Spring that I got when Lexie & I went. I thought they were on sale back when I bought them, but they weren’t. I was pleasantly surprised that B&BW took the items back b/c it was so long ago, but b/c I had my receipt they gave me a refund. Right now they have their buy 3 get 3 free going on, so I got these lotions to give as gifts to teachers or other people since the holidays are coming up. I was glad to see that the men’s stuff (the one on the far right) is included in the sale as well. Christine had some Carried Away lotion at her house and it smells so good, so I might keep that one for myself.
Mom got this awesome dutch oven from HEB when we were down in Austin. She also got a purple one for Lexie b/c they were such an incredible deal. They were only $30 each, plus there was a roast (up to $8), a package or corn tortillas, and a jar of salsa included. That way you could make shredded meat tacos for dinner w/ the dutch oven. Gotta love a great deal like that!
While I was at Christine’s last week, she had a sample out of a magazine for Beyonce’s new Pulse perfume. I found a good deal for it online and it came in the mail a few days ago. It smells really good and kind of powdery. It’s a cool looking bottle, but it’s weird b/c the silver part is actually the lid, so you set it upside down on the shelf. I think this is going to be my new scent for a while. I like it b/c I can still smell it on myself a few hours after it’s been applied. Usually I can’t smell my perfume later on in the day.
Anyways, after all the excitement of new shoes, new lotions, and a snake across the driveway, we came home and I put Autumn to bed and watched the last 1/2 of Project Runway. Then I watched TMZ and then one episode of Whose Line and called it a night.
