Since this was the last night Rosy Posy would be with us, she decided to get creative and take a “bubble” bath. Autumn loved it and thought Rosy Posy was so funny. We hung out at home for quite a while and watched TV and had breakfast and then finally got cleaned up and went over to Mom & Dad’s.
Autumn had gotten this 2012 Crayola calendar from Jason & Nicole and sat down at the kitchen table to color. Andrew & Autumn were so good and just sat and colored and drew pictures for quite a while. I helped Mom make cream cheese bread for tomorrow’s breakfast and we had on Rudolph & Frosty’s Christmas In July, which I had never seen before.
Curt heard Rufio was in town and had to come over and say hi and give her a little smooch. He always teases her about marrying him someday.
Mom had made crockpot spaghetti and we had that for lunch. We had gotten out a puzzle earlier, which is why the table is covered and we’re just eating on placemats. It was so good!
Jon kept showing the kids an update of where Santa was on thesantatracker.com. They loved getting to see where he was in the world and what he was doing before he got to our house. They would ask Jon for an update about every 5 minutes.
In between asking Jon for updates, they played w/ Legos and lined their Lego horses up on the floor. Then they would run into the back room to play and come back out w/ more toys. I love Andrew’s belly button hanging out in this picture.
Lexie helped me w/ the puzzle (and Rufio put in 2 pieces) and we finally finished it. It was a hard puzzle b/c of the abnormal border, but it was fun. I was glad when we were finished and told Mom she’ll have to glue this and use it in her nativity display next year b/c it was such a booger puzzle to do.
We sat and watched The Sound of Music (b/c it was on TV) while we waited for the Jones family to come sing to us. It’s something Mom looks forward to every year and she always says it’s not Christmas until the Jones’ come caroling. So, when there was a knock on the door she jumped up and ran to open the door. There were only 4 of them this year but it was still absolutely gorgeous and gave me goose bumps. They are so talented!
After they left, it was 9:00 and time for our traditional open-one-present-on-Christmas-Eve. Mimi always gets to pick the one present we open, and it’s always new jammies.
Andrew got some cute jammies w/ construction stuff on them and Autumn got purple ballerinas. They sure love their Mimi & their Mimi loves them.
We haven’t ALL gotten new jammies in quite a few years, so Mom surprised us when she had jammies for the rest of us. Jon & Nick got flannel bottoms & Lexie & I got new jammie sets. Mom tried getting us matching ones, but couldn’t find any that were the same. So, we both got purple ones and I love mine b/c they have cute snowmen all over the pants.
Autumn & I were going to go home, but Lexie begged us to spend the night so we could all be together in the morning when we woke up. So, I slept in Nate’s old room w/ Rufio & Autumn slept on a mattress in Mom & Dad’s room. I stayed up for a little bit to help Mom bake the cream cheese bread. We changed the recipe to use my cream cheese frosting instead of the glaze that we don’t like that the recipe says to use. It made something that’s already delicious become insanely good. We got to eat one loaf of it hot & fresh out of oven & then went to bed by 10:30 so Santa could come. It felt so much later than 10:30 b/c I was super tired. I’m so excited to see Autumn’s face in the morning when she sees her presents. She’s at the perfect age where every thing is magical.
