After work/school today, we were driving to Papa & Mim’s house and Dad and Andrew were outside putting what Mom calls Dad’s “Lego bricks” around the tree. I stopped the car and let Autumn out so she could help them.
I went in the house to help Mom make dinner and Dad called the house phone and said to come outside w/ my camera. I did, and am glad he told me to bring my camera so I could capture the kids getting a ride up the driveway in the wheelbarrow. I joked that Uncle Robert has a big tractor to give kids rides, but Dad just has his wheelbarrow. The kids were laughing like crazy and thought it was the coolest thing ever to get a ride in the wheelbarrow.
I have noticed these pretty daffodils in Mr. Jim’s front yard for the past few days. They are so pretty and I can’t believe they’re already blooming. It has been warm here, but we’re supposed to get a night freeze at the end of the week. I hope they’ll survive b/c I enjoy looking at them.
I didn’t go to YW tonight b/c at the end of work I was getting some really bad stomach cramps. Plus, I was still feeling under the weather and I’m pretty sure no one wanted me to come share my sickness w/ everyone. For dinner we had wanton salad and the kids got to eat out on this “special plate”. It was just a left over carton from the Vietnamese food Mom & Lexie had for lunch. But the kids thought they were hot stuff. Mom mentioned that the reason Dad didn’t realize how poor he was as a kid was b/c Grandma & Grandpa Johnson did stuff like that. They made the best out of what they had and turned it into an honor or a game to have the less than desirable things.
Mom took Lexie shopping today to get her some new shoes and they found some great deals on new clothes, too. Lexie looked SO CUTE in the new jeans they found and some super cute sweater/shirts like this.
The kids wanted me to run around and chase them like I usually do, but I wasn’t feeling good. So, I told them to hold onto the bottom of my legs and I would pull them around the kitchen. It was so much harder than I thought it would be since they both weigh about 50 lbs. But luckily we have wood floors so they could slide along it. We had a pretty low key evening and watched Modern Family.
