This morning we got up and had some breakfast and then I got the cleaning bug. I got Autumn involved so she can learn how to do chores. We cleaned all the sinks & countertops in the house w/ a Lysol wipe. Then I vacuumed all the carpet and tile. I started to mop and Autumn decided that it looked like fun. Mopping is my least favorite chore. I’d rather clean toilets. So, I was more than happy to let her take a turn mopping. I showed her how to do it and did some w/ her and then let her try it by herself. She did great. That might just have to be her new Saturday chore! YEAH!
By the way, I don’t know why she is only wearing her undies. Some Saturday mornings she just likes to run around like that and I don’t mind letting her while she still can. All too soon she’ll be too big/grown up to do that so I want to let her be a kid while she can.
After mopping the kitchen, Autumn was done and wanted to go play. I still needed to vacuum my room, and mop my bathroom so I told her to go play. I LOVED that I was able to sneak this picture of her playing. I love all of her dolls strewn about, the sunlight coming through the window, she’s sitting on her feet underneath her and her long hair covering her back.
I got cleaned up b/c I felt so gross and nasty after all that cleaning and sweating. We got ready and went to do some shopping. We stopped in at Ross to see if they had anything good. I found 10 items to try on, and Autumn was such a good little helper. She would take the dresses off the hanger for me. I really loved so many of the things I tried off, but they were about 1/2 inch – 1 inch too short. I LOVE being tall, but it does make finding modest dresses and shorts a challenge sometimes.
I ended up finding 2 dresses and a shirt that would work. Next up was a stop at Target to get some naan bread. I had wanted to try it at the Leap Day YWomen’s activity but it was gone before I had a chance. I also let Autumn get something out of the $1 Spot since she was being so good. I know this picture is blurry, but I loved the color panels at the entrance.
After all the fun of shopping, we went over to Mom & Dad’s house to let Emma out to go potty. Mom & Dad had gone down to Lexie and Jon’s for the day and needed us to stop by. It was so nice out that we couldn’t stay cooped up inside. So, Autumn got on her bike and we went around the neighborhood. I ended up holding Emma for most of the walk b/c I didn’t have a leash for her and didn’t want her running off into the street. I LOVE this shot of Emma chasing Autumn up the driveway w/ the pretty tree blossoms, blue sky, and flag flying in the breeze.
This is why Spring is my favorite time of year.
All the blossoms and new growth and warm weather make me happy. I can already hear my family groaning at the start of all the flower pictures I take every year.
Nick came over to Mom & Dad’s house w/ Autumn so I could go out w/ Liz. We met at Chili’s to eat before we went to the Women At The Well production. Our waiter took a long time getting our order, but we didn’t mind b/c we were just sitting and talking and catching up. Anyways, he brought us a free thing of chips & salsa b/c we were so nice about waiting. Then he brought me an extra side of avocado ranch & an extra side of ancho-chile ranch. YUMMY! At the end of the meal he brought both Liz & I a to go cup of chicken tortilla soup. He was so nice and we were so appreciative that we told the manager what a great waiter her was. Every time I go out to eat w/ Liz we get something free.
We went and saw the Women At The Well production b/c Liz hadn’t seen it yet. I had to get a picture of Grace up on the stage while she was singing. The singers did a better job tonight and didn’t seem as nervous.
It was SO GOOD to spend time w/ Liz. I can’t believe it’s already been a month since we had our Girl’s Night Out at Olive Garden. How does time get away so fast? It was a great day.
