Spontaneous Splash Pad Party

Tonight we went over to Mom & Dad’s and had taco salad for dinner.  It was really good, but even better b/c Monzingos had come over to swim earlier and so we all sat outside and talked while we ate.  I did up the dishes & then Autumn & I met up w/ Ben & his family at one of the splash pads in town at 6:30.

The kids had so much fun running around and then taking a break to go dance on the lawn when they had a water show coordinated w/ the music and the kids had to be out of the splash area for a few minutes.

We had told the kids if they were good that we could go to the Purple Cow & get some ice cream.  A classmate of Autumn & Ben’s just happened to be at the splash pad w/ his family, so it was a big spontaneous party.  The kids look so cute all lined up on these bar stools.

I got the Purple Cow ice cream b/c it was purple, but I was disappointed to discover it was just vanilla flavored.  After the kids finished eating their ice cream, we went back outside so they could play at the splash pad for a little bit longer.  We finally packed up at 8:30 b/c the suns started going down, plus I needed to get Autumn home and to bed.  It was a perfect summer evening, and I can’t believe it’s almost August!  Summer is slipping away too fast.
