Since Mom & Dad are still gone (they decided to stay in San Antonio for the weekend & come back tonight), and we had a busy evening planned, I stopped & got Little Caesar’s for dinner. It’s so cheap ($7) for a pizza, crazy bread & sauce, plus it feeds me & Autumn & Nick. Anyways, Autumn & I ate dinner and then worked on her homework. Her teacher said that she’s such a perfectionist, and that if she doesn’t get something right then she erases the whole line of writing. Then she tries to write over that, but her teacher can’t read it b/c she writes so hard that the erasing doesn’t help. So, she sends it home for homework & has Autumn rewrite it nicely w/ no erasing. I’ve talked to Autumn multiple times about not worrying if its not perfect, but it goes in one ear & out the other! How do I help her overcome being such a perfectionist???
After she finished her homework, we HAD to go to the grocery store b/c we were out of all the essentials like milk & eggs & bread & cheese. Plus, we needed to get a bunch of other stuff. She loves walking down the Halloween aisle and likes to stand under the blow up animals (like this cat or in years past it was a spider). She says it shows how brave she is. LOL!
She used to hate going grocery shopping and would beg to stay home, but I think she’s just come to terms w/ the fact that she has to go, so she deals w/ it. I’m glad she’s not one of those kids that asks for everything they see and then throws a fit when I tell her no. It’s rare that she’ll ask for something (it helps that I avoid going near the toy section), but on the rare occasion that she does ask & I tell her “no”, she drops it and doesn’t keep asking. She’s such a good little shopping buddy.
