Autumn has done such a great job at school lately w/ getting a few weeks worth of “green days” in a row, so I told her after dinner that we could have a special activity for FHE. We stopped at our house, got our library books and went and dropped them off. This is Autumn’s first time returning library books, so I let her do it.
Then we went to the bowling alley. We were so lucky that we got to be in the lane right next to this big fun wall. That’s right … don’t mess w/ Texas bowlers by the names of Ponca Princess & Hot Mama (Autumn picked my name & I picked hers).
Autumn had SO.MUCH.FUN!!! Every time she knocked some down, you would think she won the lottery.
We had to order some fried pickles b/c they’re so good. Not only was the bowling fun, but they had some fun music playing. At one point we were both full on doing the “Carlton dance” to “It’s Not Unusual To Be Loved By Anyone.” We had so much fun & didn’t care if anyone was watching.
On my third frame, there was a hot pink pin in the front & center spot. So, I went and got an employee so he could watch and see if I got a strike … no pressure. I thought there was no way I would ever get it, but I DID!!! I let out a huge yell and even busted out a few dance moves. WOO HOO! Stuff like this never happens to me, but it did tonight. I was so stinkin’ excited that I won a free game.
Autumn kept saying that this was the best FHE activities ever. Every time she did, I reminded her that she earned it w/ good behavior, and that I know she can keep getting “green days” at school.
Here’s how our scores ended up. I’m just glad I broke 100!
It was such a wonderful evening to spend time making memories w/ my Baby Girl. I just love her so incredibly much and am so glad that Heavenly Father put us together on this Earth. “I must have done something good” (name what movie that song is from) to be her mother.
I had to get a shot of our cute bowling shoes against the backdrop of the glittery olive colored 1950’s bench.
After all that fun, we spontaneously decided to drive past the water fountains to see if they were on. They sure were, and we were the only ones there. We danced around the perimeter of them and had the time of our lives.
I love the different colors & how they have it timed to go to the music. It was actually kind of cold, so we only stayed for 2 songs and then came home. I hope Autumn appreciates things like this and the memories that we’re able to create together, b/c I know that I sure do!
