CAUTION: There is a pic of a nasty & bloody broken fingernail towards the bottom of this post. If you have a weak stomach, don’t scroll too far down.
Autumn & I got up this morning and watched some cartoons together in bed and then we got ready for the day. Since the Eagles won their game last week (the ONLY one they’ve won all season), they made it to the playoffs this week. The game started at 10:00 and it was cold and super windy. The sign kept wanting to fly away and they had to hold it tight.
Our boys didn’t win their game (thank goodness) but we still made the tunnel for them to run through after the game. We have the BEST cheer coaches & I’m so excited to put their gifts together. I hope they’ll love it.
While the girls did a cheer for the football players for the last time, I took a bunch of steps back to get a shot of all the parents watching. This has been a huge time commitment for all of us, but I know for Autumn & I that it has been well worth it.
After the girls did their final cheer for the football players, they had the girls line up and the football players brought them each a little thank you bag w/ some treats & a drink it them. I thought that was so cute of the football parents to do for our cheerleaders.
We had to get one last pic of our girls together since this was the last game.
And of course one w/ our amazing coaches. They are such neat ladies!
Autumn’s teacher was there watching some of the football players so she came over to say hi. She’s another neat lady that we’re blessed to know and love.
We went over to Mom & Dad’s house and I fixed taco salad for lunch. We ate outside on the patio to take advantage of the GORGEOUS fall time weather.
It was a little windy, and Autumn wanted to go fly a kite, so we put it together and walked over to the open lot across the street. Look at that gorgeous clear blue sky & open green field. So picturesque.
It would be windy and we’d get the kite up pretty high, and then the wind would die and it would nosedive into the ground.
After a while, Autumn lost interest and had a blast playing in this pile of dirt. I’m so glad she still has that childlike ability of entertaining herself w/ simple things instead of having to always be entertained w/ an electronic device.
As we were leaving, Dad saw this butterfly so I hurried and snapped a pic before it flew off. It was neat how the bottom of it was so light blue compared to the rest of the dark wings.
After all the fun of flying the kite, it was time to do some work. Papa & Autumn went out and mowed the front lawn.
It’s crazy to think of how little she was when they first started doing this and how big she is now. They make such a good pair.
We decided to go and see a movie, and as I was running out the door, I slammed it shut and didn’t get my finger out of the way in time. It broke right off half way down my nail bed, and started to bleed. Luckily it happened so fast that it didn’t hurt. I put a bandaid on it and Mom got me the finger guard to keep it protected and off we went.
We went and saw Free Birds to kick off the Thanksgiving season. It was a cute movie, but not one that I will run out and buy when it comes out on DVD.
When we got back to Papa & Mimi’s we had dinner and then Mimi had Autumn help her sort this big jar of buttons into a muffin tin by color. Papa even got in on the action and helped color sort the buttons. Autumn & I left so we could go to $1 General to get some birthday decorations. We came home, I got her to bed, and then I went to WalMart at 10:00 pm once Nick got home.
