A Special Dinner For Papa

  It was ROUGH getting up this morning and going to daycare & work. It was SO SLOW at work!  I’m trying to remember to enjoy it, b/c it’s going to get crazy busy in January.  But, having a slow day at work makes the day go by so slowly!  Anyways, I got to leave at 4:30 and I stopped by WalMart to get a few things to make this Zuppa Toscana soup (Olive Garden copycat recipe).  Autumn wanted to wear Mimi’s onion goggles b/c the onions in the soup were making her eyes water.  LOL!

While I was finishing the soup (I added a little bit of Cayenne pepper by the way to give it some kick) Autumn was busy in the kitchen toasting a piece of bread and peeling a Clementine.  I thought she was doing that for herself b/c she was hungry & didn’t want any soup.  I went over to the table to sit down and eat my soup when I noticed that she had put this plate together for Papa all by herself!  I was so impressed!!!

What made it even better is that she wanted to write him a note to go w/ it.  She asked me how to spell a few words, but that is it.  I asked her what it means to “feel orange” and she said, “like you feel good inside.”  What a sweet angel girl to think of all of that by herself and do that kind act of service for Papa!!!

We snuggled on the couch for a little bit while she read me a book for her 15 minutes of reading.  Then I let her watch one episode of Little Einstein’s while I rested my eyes b/c I had a headache.  We came home & she took a shower & then we laid out all of our presents on the couch.  I like doing that, b/c years from now it will be so fun to look back & see what toys were popular.  I know that I LOVE looking back at pics like this from my childhood & seeing what toys I loved at different ages.

Autumn got 3 new Barbies w/ clothes & shoes, Pocahontas sleeping bag, Rainbow Loom w/ elastics, giant pillow pet, Sofia The First game, new pants, hair chalk, chapstick, Stompeez slippers, headbands, scooter, etc.

Here’s what I got … a lot of Project Life stuff that showed up on my doorstep from HSN yesterday afternoon (just in time).  I was so excited that Mom found another black & white damask purse like the one I have now.  The handles are literally shredding & falling apart b/c I’ve used it so much.  It will be great having this to switch over to once the handles fall off.  We were spoiled rotten this year & Santa’s sleigh dumped over at Lexie & Jon’s.
