Today was an odd Christmas Eve compared to years past. Usually we’re together as a family at Mom & Dad’s house & we watch movies and cook and have fun. But, Mom & Dad left for Austin this morning & took Autumn w/ them so she can play w/ Andrew & go to bed at a decent hour. I made cream cheese bread, which is something we traditionally eat as part of our Christmas morning breakfast. Then I picked Nick up & took him to work at noon. I came home, got all my presents I’ve been stashing away, got some lunch at Sonic, and went to Mom & Dad’s house. I watched TV while wrapping all my presents for tomorrow. Yes, I hid them all in a black plastic garbage sack. Luckily Autumn isn’t into sneaking around & looking for where I’ve hidden presents yet.
It’s a tradition to get new jammies for Christmas, and this year it was just the 3 grandbabies that got new ones. They look so cute!
I picked Nick up from work at 7:00 & we hit the road for Austin. We were really lucky not to hit any major traffic & we got there at 10:30 pm. Lexie & Mom were super tired and kept drifting off to sleep on the couches.
Dad & Jon were busy putting together a surprise from Papa & Mimi for tomorrow. This picture cracks me up, b/c it looks like they are praying over the instruction booklet like they need divine intervention to figure it out. LOL! They were kneeling b/c they were working on the bottom part of the contraption. We helped them get it put together & we all finally climbed into bed at 1:00 am. I slept horribly & only got about 3 hours of sleep!
