It looks like the tooth fairy doesn’t want Rosy Posy to go back to the North Pole! We found then clinging to each other this morning. I’m pretty sure Rosy Posy will be get to stay for Christmas Day just to see all the fun stuff Autumn got for Christmas, and then she’ll go back to the North Pole until next year. We love having Rosy Posy around for the month of December.
We slept in a little bit this morning, which was super nice. Mom called & said Lexie and her family were going to the movies if we wanted to go with them. So, we hurried and got cleaned up and met them at the movie theater. We saw Big Hero 6, and it was a super cute movie. That’s one I would buy when it comes out on DVD. We all enjoyed it and said how good it was.
I had to stop & get gas on the way back to Mom & Dad’s house, and I am LOVING these low gas prices. I NEVER thought I’d see gas be less than $2 a gallon!
We were all hungry so we had some lunch and then the kids were restless so we took them on a walk/bike ride around the neighborhood. As we were walking around a police car drove by just patrolling the neighborhood. On his way past us to leave the neighborhood we all waved to him & he said over the loud speaker on his car, “Merry Christmas, y’all!” The kids thought that was cool that he had talked to them through his car.
We got home just as Mom & Dad got back from taking some presents around to their friends. Dad had just finished putting away the neighbor’s garbage cans, and so he had Jackson hop on top of ours (you can see Jackson’s legs sticking out on top of the garbage can) and he & Lexie raced up the driveway.
We had creamy chicken enchiladas for dinner, and then we heard a knock on the door. Mom let out a yell of joy & ran to the door b/c she knew it was her FAVORITE part of Christmas Eve … when the Jones family comes and carols. She says it’s not Christmas w/out hearing the Jones family sing to us. They always harmonize and have the most beautiful voices. It’s something we look forward to every year.
After they left, we let the kids open one present, which is our tradition on Christmas Eve. Usually it’s new pajamas from Papa & Mimi, but Mimi said she was doing a minimal Christmas this year. Lexie got pajamas for her family, and I let Autumn open a pair of cute pants from Jason & Nicole. Then Dad read us the Christmas Story from Luke 2. We said family prayer, put the kids to bed, and I got busy wrapping the few presents I got Autumn this year.
I also watched this super funny Downton Abbey spoof that had George Clooney in it! I love it that they’re taking a selfie. I’m excited for the 2 hour season 5 finale to be on tomorrow night! It’s weird, but I haven’t really felt the Christmas spirit this year. We didn’t put any lights up outside our house, and my heart just hasn’t been in it this year. I guess it’s OK to have some “off years” every once in a while. I hope it’s a magical Christmas for my Autumn Girl, though.
