The Sister Missionaries accidentally left their helmets at our house last night, so they texted this morning and wanted to know if we could bring them by. Usually that would be totally impossible b/c Autumn & I wake up w/ just barely enough time to get ready & out the door. I have it timed down to the minute. But, for some reason I woke up early today (before the Sisters sent their text) & not only were we able to leave the house in time to drop off their helmets, but Autumn also had time to shower & we were able to stop at McDonald’s to get a breakfast burrito! YAY for tender mercies.
Mom had me stop & pick up Papa John’s for dinner tonight b/c she had her Activity Day girls over, and she had also invited Shantelle and her family over to eat. I scarfed down some pizza and then had to rush home, change clothes, and go over to the church. For our Laurel’s class activity tonight we painted fire hydrants. It was really windy, which made it feel colder than it was.
We kept having a problem w/ paint flying off the brushes and going where we didn’t want it b/c it was so windy. "It’s lookin’ good, ladies! Keep up the good work.” We were laughing & saying that people driving by probably thought we were naughty teenagers that were having to paint fire hydrants for community service. LOL.
I helped to paint the sliver part. You can’t tell in this picture b/c it just looks gray, but the silver paint looked like liquid metal. We had to stir it w/ a brush b/c it would settle and we had to mix it up. It looked SO COOL! It was a fun activity & is something I could do with Autumn sometime for a Family Home Evening activity.
