I tried sleeping in today, but couldn't. So I got up, went up to the house, and helped GrannyMom get things ready for the Thanksgiving Feast. She makes me SO TIRED with all that she does! We loaded everything into their vehicle, got ready ourselves, and headed over to the State Park. They rent this room every year, which is super nice. We made the boys go w/ us so they could help set up tables and chairs.
GrannyMom brought this big genealogy chart & some memory books for people to look through. Basically this feast is for the 3 Anderson kids ... Grampsy, Hank, & Mary Ann along with their families.
The weather could NOT have been better, and the kids enjoyed being outside running around and finding treasures.
Everyone was in charge of bringing some food to share, but GrannyMom made more than half the food! I don't know how she does it!
We started eating around 11:00, and people came & went as they could. It seemed like people came in shifts. I'm glad I had on my stretchy pregnancy pants, b/c I would finish eating & then someone new would come w/ something delicious that I needed to try. LOL!
This guy right here is one of things that I'm most thankful for this year. ♥ ♥ ♥ We were saying how different this Thanksgiving is for us than last year's. I never could have imagined last Thanksgiving that I would be married, 4 months pregnant, and celebrating in Oklahoma instead of Texas.
GrannyMom wanted a picture w/ her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Here's the one w/ her kids (minus Mary Lynne who passed away & Ben who couldn't make it).
Most of the grandkids (some had already left before we took the picture)
2 Great Grandkids ... again, several had already left before we took this picture
GrannyMom & her twin sister will be turning 79 on Sunday, so we had to celebrate them while everyone was together. We got them some Happy Birthday crowns, a sign, candles to blow out, and we had everyone sign cards for them. They were completely surprised and so appreciative. I think it meant a lot to them.
I had to get a picture w/ Marissa of our pregnant bellies. It's crazy to think I'll be a GRANDMA in January, and then a Mom again in April!!!
It was so nice for everyone to eat, and talk, and spend time together making memories. We finally called it a day around 2:30. I had to snap this pic, b/c us women were packing up the food & cleaning up while the men stood around and talked. MMM HMM!
We got home, unloaded everything, and RESTED for a while. It's so much work and days of preparation for it to be over in just a few hours. Autumn went out to help GrannyMom w/ the chickens.
It is so PEACEFUL & PRETTY out here in the country. Frank & I sat on the tailgate of his pickup truck for a while and just talked and enjoyed each other's company.
GrannyMom got Autumn addicted to making boondoogles. Autumn had Grampsy hold the end of it while she worked on it, which was so cute.
GrannyMom snapped this picture of us, and even though it's blurry I had to post it. I have a huge long list of so many things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. These 2 people right here are right near the top of that list.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING 2017
