Today was my baby shower! The lady that hosted it at her house had everything decorated so stinkin' cute!!!
Liz & Eila & Shawna & Brittany went way above & beyond to make it a super special event. I'm overcome w/ emotion about how generous & kind they are. I know things like this are A LOT of work & it meant so much to me.
We had chicken salad sandwiches, fruit trays, veggie trays, a cheese ball w/ crackers, and lemon water. SO YUMMY!
They had this cute sign in table set up. The swan in the middle is actually a piggy bank & people could put any loose change in there to start baby girl's first savings account. Cute idea!
Once most of the guests had arrived, we went ahead and said a prayer so we could start eating. Once everyone was almost done eating they started the games. They divided the room in two so there were 2 teams. The first game was to dress someone up like a baby in a diaper. The teams were creative and even made binkies out of crepe paper. LOL! I was laughing so hard. Such good sports!
Then 4 people from each team had to come up, blow up a balloon, and stick it in their shirt to look pregnant. Then it would be the next person's turn. Once all 4 were done, they had to take out their balloon & pop it by sitting on it or stepping on it. Again, super HILARIOUS!
The last game was passing a binky from person to person using a straw and no hands. After that, we all played a game where they would play a 10 second snippet of a song with the word "baby" in it and we had to guess the name of the song and the artist. It was so much fun!
After all of the excitement of the games, it was time for dessert and opening presents. There were cupcakes, cookies, cherry pies, and candy. YUM!
This baby girl is already SPOILED ROTTEN with all of the gifts she got at the shower. I wish I could put into words how grateful I am for all of these women taking time out of their busy lives to show up and support me. It meant the world to me. I love each & everyone one of them so much. "My cup overfloweth."
Autumn & I got home, unpacked all the gifts from the car into the house, and then still had some energy. So, we washed the new baby bed linens we got and cleaned up the crib. This is Autumn's crib from when she was a baby, and it's been up in the attic for the past 10 years! We washed off all the dirt and grime and put it together. Grant came home from work & put Autumn in the crib to be silly. LOL!
Frank got home from taking the boys back to Oklahoma, and I went over to Karri's house for a girl's night. We haven't gotten together in over a year since Melanie had moved to Washington. But, she's moved back and it was high time for us to have a Girls' Night! We ate pizza, had snacks, talked, laughed, caught up w/ each other, and played a card game. I had NO CLUE what I was doing the first 2 rounds, but ended up winning all 3 rounds anyways. It was the perfect way to end a WONDERFUL day! I got home & fell into bed at 1:30 am!!!
