Shouldn't free things be shared by all?

The other night, as I was driving home from work, I was noticing a sign that I drive past every night. It's a time and temperature sign (and since I'm in Utah, it's not 102 degrees). But I used this pic, b/c by this time and temperature sign, there's a huge American Flag (probably 4 of the flags in this pic put together) flying near the sign. I was thinking how I love driving by that sign every night just to double check and make sure my clock in my car is right and to see what the temp is. And since it's right when you're coming off I-215 onto Foothill Drive in SLC, it's super windy and it's so cool to see this huge flag flying in the breezes that are coming out of the canyon. I was thinking of how nice it is that they provide this service, and it's free to me. I wonder how many other people take advantage of that free service and appreciate seeing the flag, the temperature, and the time.

Well, today at work, they brought in a LOT of energy drinks and a huge box of candy (pictured above). It had various mini chocolates and candy. It was full up to the holes in the back with candy. Everyone came in and got a handful to enjoy and keep themselves energized throughout the day. Well, I was sitting in my office when somebody came in and told me that 2 of the sales reps downstairs had come upstairs, gotten the box, and taken it downstairs. I thought that was OK since they were going to share it with everyone downstairs...oh no! They took that whole box and put it all in their own desk drawers.

When I found out, I got my little, "Sheneneh attitude." (Which, by the way, who knew Sheneneh was spelled that way?) The girls at work say I get this attitude when I'm upset. I wag my head, shake my finger and say, "Ah, HELL NO!" So, I guess I did that today, and then stormed downstairs. I must admit that I caused a little bit of a scene. I went over to their desks, demanded to know where the candy was, and stood there with my hands on my hips. When they didn't say anything, I started going through drawers and told them they'd better give up the loot. Needless to say, I found it and started putting it back in the box. I did it in a teasing way, but I really was a little upset.

I think it is so rude of them to hoard candy for themselves that is for everyone. What makes them feel that they are entitled to all of it? What makes them more special than anyone else that works here? Why do they think they should have all of it? And not only that, but they also did the same thing the day before with energy drinks and big candy bars. They loaded up their coats, took the stuff down to their desks, came back up, and refilled their coats for a 2nd time!!! What the HECK!?!?! Can you say greedy, presumptious, and NERVY? Am I just overreacting here?

It's not even about the candy or drinks. It's the fact that they think it's OK to do that. What if everyone felt that way and did what they did? It would be only the people who got there first that would ever get anything, which is not fair since everyone is trying to work hard and deserves to be rewarded. So, I did my part to try and level the playing field and make things fair again. It just bugs the crap out of me and is one of my pet peeves when people take advantage of someone else's kindness. In this case, it was the company being nice and providing treats for everyone, and they took advantage of that and were selfish. It makes me want to not do nice things for them if they're going to act that way. Anyways, I'll get off my soap box now and hope they learned their lesson...don't take chocolate from a woman with a Sheneneh attitude!!!

What brings out the Sheneneh attitude in you?

I get a Shenene attitude when someone hurts my friends and family because they mean the world to me.
