Dinner With the Downings

Here is a picture of the Downings...one of my favorite families ever. This is a picture of them last year. (See below for a recent picture, and to see how much they have grown in one short year).

This is Hailey. I used to babysit her a lot, and she is just ADORABLE. I can't believe how much all of them have grown, but her especially. This is so weird to see her holding my baby, b/c she used to be like my baby.

Here they are now (except for Riley & Mason). They had Autumn and I over for dinner a few Sundays ago. It was so much fun. I want what they have someday...a mom and dad that love each other, a big family sitting around a table having Sunday dinner, laughing, talking, sharing, making memories, etc.

I always thought I only wanted 2 kids, but after having dinner with them I might up that number to 4. It was just so nice to see such a happy family and I want that as one of my goals someday...to have my own happy family sitting around a table having Sunday dinner. They just talked and laughed and were joking around. Mason, the youngest boy, was just making us all laugh so hard.

After dinner, we sat around and visited for a while and then we had smoothies for dessert. It just was nice to see what is possible, and made me so thankful for my own parents and the way I was brought up. Happy families really do exist, and I will have my own someday.

Children have the opposite effect on me now days. I hang out with a bunch and think, "I wanted 6 kids?! Maybe 3." ...and I want to go back into elementary education. lol.
