So last night it was about 95 degrees at 7:30 pm with 85% humidity. But I decided I wanted to get some exercise, so Nick and I took Autumn to the park to go for a walk. I started sweating as soon as we got of the car. But then we started to get a nice little breeze. While we walked, the sun was going down and we got to see the most amazing sunset. This picture isn't even close to what it looked like, but this was the closest picture I could find. Picture a big green field, being able to see the sky in 360 degrees, dark storm clouds with 4 diagonal streaks of hot pink. It was just breathtaking. I was kicking myself for not bringing my camera with me.
Then it got dark and we got back to the car. It was a great outing to the park. My fingers felt like fat polish sausages b/c of all the blood flow in them, which I'm hoping means that I got a good work out. And the sweat pouring off my face was hopefully another positive indicator of a good work out. Just as we got to the car and were getting in, we started seeing lightning. We just sat in the car and watched it for about 10 minutes. It was AMAZING. There is just something awesome (as in causes awe) about Texas thunderstorms. In the picture above, take out the city and replace it with a huge green field. But we saw lightning do this, where there were 2 strikes and it went all the way across the sky.
We got home just before the rain hit. Talk about torrents! I love love love nature. Nick even said when we were admiring the sunset, "Heavenly Father is a great artist." I couldn't agree more!

Lisa I couldn't agree more. I absolutely love being in nature too. There's just something so calming and peaceful about it. In nature I am always reminded of the scripture that says, "and all these things were created for man that he might find joy." It's just another testimony of how special we are to the Lord, that he cares enough to create this beautiful earth for us.
