Today at work mom called and said she had gotten some free tickets to Cirque Eloize Rain tonight and asked if I wanted to go. I was all for going out to something theatrical. We got Nick to watch Autumn for us (only for an hour really, b/c she goes to bed at 8:00).
It was rainy and I was worried we wouldn't make it in time, but we had plenty of time and even found a good parking spot that was close. The Majestic, where it was at, was super nice and elegant inside. The chairs were very soft, comfy, and even reclined a little bit. The best part was there was plenty of leg room!
The show itself was really abstract and a little too "out there" for my taste, and I'm glad that I we didn't have to pay for the tickets. But the strength and agility of these people was mind blowing. To read more about what it was, go here.
They come out at the beginning of a show during a monologue and tell you that you just have to imagine the rain, b/c it's too expensive and technically not possible to have rain on the stage. However, at the end of the show they do in fact have rain on the stage. It was pretty neat.
This was one of my favorite acts. This man stood in this huge ring and circled around the stage and did a lot of cool tricks with it. It was amazing to watch him spin, and I was getting dizzy just watching him. It was mesmerizing.
This was probably the coolest one, though. These 2 men moved slowly to music and did moves that just defied gravity. They must have the strongest muscles on earth. It was phenomenal, breathtaking, and unbelievable to watch. What a neat night out.
