It's a tradition that we start at the top of the stairs, line up according to age with youngest first, and then wait while Dad sets up the video camera and oohs and ahhs about how Santa must have dumped his sleigh out in our living room b/c of all the presents. We used to get so frustrated that he took so long. But we all must be getting old, b/c this year we didn't line up at the top of the stairs. But we did go youngest to oldest, which was nice that for once I got to go first, b/c I was holding Autumn and she's the youngest!
Santa brought this cute play tunnel for the kids. But as you can see, the adults had fun, too.
Santa also brought us a Wii, which we spent most of the day playing (6 hours and 24 minutes to be exact). It was SO FUN and I'd have to say that bowling is my favorite. We opened gifts and then had our traditional Christmas breakfast.
We had our sour cream bread (on the left) and scrapple (on the right) with hot chocolate. Scrapple is a Norwegian dish that we only have on Christmas. It's basically milk and cornbread with sausage that you cook and put in bread pans and then when you're ready, you slice it up, bread it, and fry it. So good!
Then we go to talk to Nathan, who's on a mission in California. That was fun and he sounds so grown up. Sure do miss him and it's fun to think that he'll be home in 6 months.
After that we fired up the hot tub and went outside to enjoy the night. I put my camera on night pictures, and it turned out blurry, but oh well. My Dad was crazy and went in the pool first and then got in the hottub. I only do that on New Year's for our Annual Pool Dip.
Bet you didn't know that the moon was really a shooting star, did you? (Just kidding, that's the night picture version again). It's b/c of these two wonderful people that Autumn and I are so spoiled and well taken care of. I couldn't do it without them. Thanks, Mom & Dad.
All in all, it was a great Christmas and we wore ourselves out.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
