Today we went to a new Asian restaurant. We got some teriyaki chicken in a bento box with some chicken fried rice. I like the presentation of the food in the bento box. It was decent food, but not a place I would go back to.
Then we took a trip over to the Asia World Market. It's a secret that I'm sharing with the blogging world that you can get some of the freshest and yummiest and cheapest veggies and fruit ever at the Asian Food Markets. However, there are also some really interesting things there that I just had to get pics of.
I thought this was funny, b/c I thought loofah's were those big colorful ball things that you wash your body with. Who knew that they were really these long hollow green things?
They also had some pig blood (left) and pig casing (right) for sale.
Um, I think I'll pass.
Too bad I don't like chicken feet, b/c they were pretty cheap at only $1.62 for a pound and a half of them.
This big case of live blue crabs was pretty cool. This picture makes me laugh, b/c it looks like the crab in the middle and the one to the right of him are trying to show off for the camera. They have their claws up in the air like they're saying,
"Yo, yo, yo. Look at me! No, look at me!"
I also liked this case of live crawfish.
How would you like to be the crawfish on the bottom of this big old pile?
Autumn liked looking at the live fish. She got SO mad when we had to leave.
I noticed a lot of the people in the market sneaking peaks at me out of the corner of their eyes. They were looking at how tall I was, and then they would look at my feet to see if I was wearing heels, but I was wearing flat flip flops. I felt like I was towering over everyone, but that's OK. I love being tall.
I also thought of something comical when I was in the Asian Market. There is a stereotype that Asians take tons of pictures and act like paparazzi with their touristy picture taking. Well, today the stereotype was reversed and I was the crazy picture taking tourist in an Asian Market.

pig's blood? "I'm sorry I can't. I just gave that stuff up."
gag.
Wow, that is some gross stuff, I wonder if people really eat that stuff.
For some reason I feel like this place would be MAJORLY stank-stanky!
To answer your question from a few posts back, DJ and I have a combined scanner/printer. We've just gradually started scanning some old pics in. Some of those baby/kid pics of DJ are from our wedding video. If it's worth it to you, you may want to invest in a cheap scanner.
Now I need a favor: would you visit my blog and share our book recommendations or do a blog post of your own about it? THANKS!
When are we going to get together for a CHOCOLAT party? fondue anyone ?
OMG! People totally do the stare at my tallness and then look at my shoes thing! I have been finally brave enough to wear heels lately (kitten heels, but still heels!) and then I feel like a total amazon woman. it's cool though, I like being tall.
