Today I went visiting teaching, and I was in charge of the lesson. As soon as I saw the title, "Marriage between a Man and a Woman Is Ordained of God," I thought, "Oh great. This won't apply to me and I'm going to feel rotten reading this, b/c I am not happily married and it's just going to rub in my face all the things I should have and yet don't have...like a happy marriage." However, I was proven wrong. This paragraph really stood out to me and gave me hope and happiness...

Scott of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles: “Through your obedience and continuing faith in Jesus Christ and your understanding of the whole plan of happiness, even if important parts of it aren’t fulfilled in your life now, they will be yours in the Lord’s due time. I also promise you that you can have significant growth and happiness now in your present circumstances. As a daughter or son of God, live whatever portion of the plan you can to the best of your ability” (“The Joy of Living the Great Plan of Happiness,” Ensign, Nov. 1996, 75).
The part in red just struck a cord in my spirit. I never thought that at age 28 I would be a single divorced mom. I pictured myself happily married and living the life I have always dreamed of since I was a little girl. But, I don't have to wallow in self pity. The Lord is aware of what I need and that I can still progress and be happy in this stage of my life. I can live this life of a single divorced mother to the best of my ability and have joy in it. I have been in a really rotten mood the past 2 days, and this is exactly what I needed to boost my spirits.

I love this quote! You are such a good person and such a great example to me!!! My favorite quote is " Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers." Anytime I feel like I just want to cry or why me, I think of that and remember as long as I am doing what I can God will bless me in other ways.
