Josh flew in on Saturday to spend some time here while Grandma Ruth was here. Unfortunately, both he and I had to work, but I took off early one day, and we headed to downtown Dallas. He calls me his Custer (Cousin/Sister) and he's my Bruzin (Brother/Cousin). I really had no idea where we were going, but we just drove around. We found this restaurant, and thought it was a Mexican restaurant, but we got in there and it's a Vietnamese restaurant.
It was really tasty, and the parking is so limited that they do complimentary valet parking. It was a small restaurant, but very nice. The "all you can eat" sign behind me was for the sushi place next door, not for the Green Papaya. But, we didn't even finish all of our food that we ordered.
Waiting for the car to be brought around. I felt so fancy, b/c I've never used valet before. After that, we thought we should head into the heart of Dallas to see what we could find. We were driving, and this hot guy pulled up next to us and motioned for us to roll down the window. We got all excited, but he told us that we lost a hubcap about 3 or 4 lights back! Crap! So, we turned around and went to find it, b/c those things are expensive. We drove really slow and Josh scanned the right side of the road and I scanned the left. But, they guy had said it rolled into the bushes, and there were cars behind us when we were looking, so I couldn't go super slow. Needless to say, we didn't find it! But we were laughing to hard at how ghetto the whole situation was.
We got to downtown and just happened to drive past the Dallas Museum of Art. So, we pulled over, found some parking, used the change in my car to pay for the parking meter, and headed over. We walked around in the sculpture garden and found this cool water wall.
It's not fair that Josh looks like a model all the time.
We saw this quote in there and thought it was pretty cool.
"Spiritual energy is eternal, not death or birth strikes it."
Don't you think I look like this painting? LOL! We could only take non-flash photography, so sorry for the bad lighting. The museum was really cool and had 3 different levels. There was the Arts of the Americas; Arts of Africa, Asia, & the Pacific Islands; and European Painting and Sculpture including works from classical Greece and Rome.
At the entrance, they had these awesome glass pieces hanging near the window. Why couldn't I get the family genes that Josh got that make him look like a model?
As you can tell from this picture, I really am an angel. Here's my halo to prove it!
We were walking back to the car and couldn't help but laugh at seeing a neon sign for a church. That's not something Josh is used to seeing in Utah!
Is it fair to always look this good?
The architecture downtown was so interesting to look at.
We found this little park right in the middle of downtown and it was so peaceful and quiet. If I worked downtown, I would take my lunch and just go eat at one of the tables here or read a book.
After we were done there, we went and picked up Autumn at day care and went out to Sam Moon's. We had a good time there, and then headed home. It was SUCH A FUN DAY! I don't feel like I've been myself much since the divorce, but it was good to see that the glimmer of my old self is still there. Josh helped bring it out in me. I just love him so much and am so glad that we aren't just cousins, but such good friends!
LOVE YA, JOSH, MY BRUZIN!

I think you look dah-ling next to the painting. That made me laugh.
And I always knew you were an angel. :o)
You look so cute in the pictures with your Bruzin! LOL I love it. I remember that one fourth of July at his house, it was a blast. I bet you two had the best time together.
Bruzin really is a model, huh?! What a fun day in the city. I keep trying to plan a fun day in downtown Dallas like this, but it hasn't happened yet. I need some tips. Whenever we are near the city, we get too intimidated and try to get out as quickly as possible.
I loved the part about the hot guy pulling you over. It reminds me of being out to lunch/errands with you and those guys waved out their car window at us and you freaked out and used all of the gas in your car trying to catch up to them! I was dying laughing!
I love that picture of you next to the painting. I think you look gorgeous too, and modelicious! :D
