We have a fig tree out in our yard, and I came home to this sitting on the counter tonight. They are SO SWEET and so good. I took some to work, and they had no idea what figs are. I had to explain that figs are the things they make Fig Newtons out of.
This is what the inside of the figs look like. They're so sweet they almost taste like candy. It's nice that I can just go out to the backyard and pick them right off the tree!
Mom bought these red heart balloons for Andrew and Autumn to play with. I thought this pic was kind of cool.

ohhh so that's what those things are. We have a tree here, that had those all over it, but I couldn't figure out what in the world they were. So how do you eat them. Cut them in half and scoop the insides out, or are you supposed to eat the whole thing? How do you know if they're ripe?
I love figs, my parents have a tree in their backyard also and it is such a late summer/early fall treat to me. Those look really good.
