After reading on Sherelle's blog about her and her kids making sugar cookies, I decided Autumn and I would try it. I've been wanting to make sugar cookies since Conference weekend, but couldn't find my recipe for them. I knew it had sour cream in it, so when I saw Sherelle's, I figured that might the the same one. Autumn wanted to help, so I let her eat some of the batter, but just a teaspoonful.
She wasn't too keen about helping with the dishes like Sherelle's kids were. "Mom, I need some more of that good stuff."
That dough was so thick and sticky! I'm so glad my mom has a Bosche mixer to make things easier. We even made some homemade frosting (also from Sherelle's blog). It was pretty tasty!
I also had a hankerin' for toasted pumpkin seeds, so I made some of those as well. My little ghost cookie at the top turned out great. I only used 1/2 the dough tonight (b/c I was getting tired and it was late). When I use the rest of the dough, I won't roll the cookies as thin b/c they got a little too crispy and I like my soft.
Autumn was tuckered out after all the fun of making cookies! What a cutie!
P.S. The cookies were a HUGE hit at work and everyone raved about the frosting!
