Non-Stop Saturday

IMG_6416 This has been quite the busy day. Autumn and I woke up this morning and played, watched the Disney Channel, and then it was time to hit the road. We went to Costco to get some more diapers (she was completely out and I was having to use the backup emergency ones I had in my car and the diaper bag). Autumn was really good, and this is such a classic Autumn face! After that, we ran over to WalMart to get some groceries for the party tonight.

IMG_6418 After WalMart, we went to McDonald’s to meet up with one of my best friends from high school. I haven’t seen Jen in over 13 years! She’s married now with 3 adorable daughters. It was so nice to meet her husband and girls and Autumn had a blast playing with the girls on the playground there. It was so good to see Jen again and we just talked and got caught up on the past 13 years. She is the type of friend that you can just pick up where you left off and not feel like it’s been such a long time since we’ve talked. We’re for sure going to stay in touch now and not let another 13 years go by! She is so sweet and such a good friend.

IMG_6420 After that, Autumn and I headed home to get ready for the game. Autumn crashed, b/c it was 4:00 and she hadn’t had nap all day. Mom and I rushed around and got everything ready for the party at 5:00. We watched the BYU/Utah game. I had on Dad’s BYU suspenders and his U of U tie, so I could cheer for both teams. BYU is my alma mater, so I really wanted them to win, but I also wanted the U to win since they are undefeated and if they won this game that would give them a better chance to go to a BCS bowl and get $17 million to split w/ all the schools in the Mountain West Conference. It was a great game (until the 2nd half) and the U won 42 to 24. It was fun to have everyone over to watch the game and we had SO MUCH good food. YUM!

IMG_6423 While I was gone all day running errands and visiting Jen, Mom had gone out to Frisco to meet up with Aimee again to get MORE clothes for Autumn she had forgotten about! This adorable coat and matching hat were in the bag of clothes from Aimee and still had the tag on it! SO CUTE! I also got these adorable pink boots for Autumn while we were at WalMart. She looks like she’s ready to head out to the wild Alaskan frontier. I just noticed she also looks like a life size porcelain doll b/c of the position of her arms and hands, the look on her face, and the price tag hanging from her arm!

kitty cat After all of that excitement, I still wasn’t done. The lady I visit teach, Jennifer, has just gone through a divorce and so she and I decided to go to the single adult activity. It’s for anyone 30 or older, and I know I’m not 29 yet, but I don’t want to go to the young single adults activities, b/c most of the guys there are just back from their missions and I feel so much older and mature than them b/c I’ve been married and I have a child. Anyways, I went over to Jen’s and we headed to the dance. We walked in and all I can say is SPECIAL! Everyone there was in their late 40’s or early 50’s! There was this one guy who had the biggest Santa Claus looking belly every and he was wearing a tight grey sweater. I’m not kidding when I say this and I would not have believed it if I hadn’t of seen it with my own eyes, but he had a stuffed animal cat that was also a puppet. He would put it on his hand and go around to the ladies sitting at his table and put the cat puppet on their shoulder and talk to them via the puppet! Jen and I looked at each other and said, “LET’S GET OUT OF HERE!!!”

We saw Pete (he is Curt’s brother from across the street) on our way out and he said he was going to leave too b/c it was so lame. We all ended up going to Denny’s. I just had a hot chocolate, b/c I had eaten so much crap at the football party. We just sat and talked and had a good time. It was midnight before we knew it and so we headed home. It was SO NICE to get out and get to know Jen a little more. She is AWESOME and has been through what I’ve been through so it helped a lot to talk to her and hear what advice she had for me about life after divorce. We made plans to do something together in the next few weekends, which will be a lot of fun!

It was a busy day, but everything was so much fun. It was so nice to get things accomplished, spend time with old friends, and make new friends!
