While I was putting that previous post together, my word for 2009 just came to me. That was pretty fast, b/c I was thinking it was going to take a couple of days. My word for 2009 is:
CHANGE
Definition of Change:
1. The act, process, or result of altering or modifying: a change in facial expression.
2. The replacing of one thing for another; substitution: a change of atmosphere; a change of ownership.
3. A transformation or transition from one state, condition, or phase to another: the change of seasons.
4. Something different; variety: ate early for a change.
5. A different or fresh set of clothing.
The change I am talking about is a personal change. I want to change how I eat. I want to change how often I exercise. I want to change my attitude. I want to change how late I go to bed. I want to change some things in my social life. I want to change my spiritual life. I want to change how I interact w/ Autumn. I want to appreciate the changing of each season.
Even before I picked the word CHANGE for my 2009 word, I had a feeling that 2009 is going to bring lots of changes in my life. I know there will be changes that come into my life that I will have no control over. And I just need to take it all in stride and do my best to handle those changes. But I also know that I want to bring about some changes in my life, and I will have control over those. I am excited for what this New Year will hold for me and my life.
While I was looking for pictures to put in this post, I found a bunch of Barack Obama, and my word for 2009 has nothing to do w/ his campaign for change. Although now that I think about it, there will be some changes made in 2009 just b/c he will be the President. I didn’t vote for him, but I still wish him the best and support him as the President of our country. I just hope and pray that he would make the best choices for our country and hope that the change he is going to bring about will be positive.
WHAT IS YOUR WORD FOR 2009???

LIVE.
I do too many things because I feel obligated. This year I'm going to do things that inspire, uplift, and motivate. Things that allow me to get the most out of life. Things that allow me to LIVE.
I loved this idea. I actually stole it and thought of a word that would be the theme of my 2009 resolutions. I think your word of the year will catch on ... although I might have used the concept wrong!
P.S. I love using change. I came this close (imagine 2 fingers close together) to stealing your word too.
I've been thinking really hard about my word. Hopefully I'll have it this week!
