I have had a lot of people ask who this cute new guy on my blog is. I guess I should start at the beginning. We both work at the same place, so that is how I met him. He works part time, b/c he is also going to school part time to get a degree in finance and business. He recently got divorced, so we have that in common. His Dad was in the navy, so we are both military brats. He's the oldest of 4 kids, just like me.
Anyways, Liz (a girl at work) told him one day that he needed to take me to lunch! I have no idea why she did that, but she thinks she is like Yente (from Fiddler On The Roof) and that it is her calling in life to play matchmaker. I turned BRIGHT RED, but he still asked if I wanted to go to lunch. I said yes and we went to Freebirds. That was back on January 14th. Then on Wednesday the 21st we went to lunch again. The conversation was great and easy going and comfortable (no weird or awkward pauses). Liz worked her embarrassing magic again and told him I had no plans on Saturday the 24th and asked if he did. He said no, so she told him he should ask me out. She is so funny and makes the office such a fun place to work, and is just so bold about saying what she thinks.
Don sent me a text to ask if I was doing anything on Saturday . I told him I wasn't, so we made plans to go out. He came and picked me up at 5:30 and met Mom and Autumn. Then we went to Chuy's in downtown Dallas. Again, the conversation was great and easy going. We walked around Z Gallerie and just looked at some of the cool artwork after dinner. Then I have always wanted to drive around downtown Dallas, but don't know my way around all the one way streets. Don knows them though, so we drove around and had his sun roof open which was so cool to look up at all the tall buildings. Then he showed me his apartment and we just sat on the couch and talked. His apartment, by the way is decorated so NICE! After we talked for a while he took me home. It was a great date and a lot of fun.
Then the next day on Sunday (January 25th) he came to Autumn's birthday party. I thought that was very brave of him to meet some of my extended family after we had only been out on 3 dates. But, he said he didn't mind at all and wanted to come. He fit right in with my family and even got up and sang a few songs when we busted out the karaoke machine! He sat and talked to my Uncle for a while and got down on the floor and was playing with Autumn. Just lots of fun.
The next time we hung out was on Tuesday night (I blogged about this part already) when he came over to watch movies and it iced over so he had to spend the night and then Wednesday we got to spend the whole day together b/c his classes were cancelled and I had no one to watch Autumn so I had to take the day off work.
That, in a nutshell, is who Don is, a little background on how we met, and why he's all of a sudden showing up on my blog! :D All I can say is that he is AMAZING and is so so so sweet and patient with Autumn. She was throwing one of her usual temper tantrums and kicking and screaming in the car. I kept apologizing and saying I was so sorry and Don just turned to me and told me not to worry about it and that she's just doing what normal 2 year olds do! He is also so nice and so good to me. He's a great and down to earth type of guy. I'm excited to see what happens!
