Today I’ve noticed a theme about families. I’ve been really feeling the need to go to the temple today. I wasn’t able to go for a long time and then I finally got my recommend and went in November, and was shocked to realize that was the last time I went. I want to start trying to go at least once a month. So, I woke up early this morning and went down there. The sky was SO BLUE and no clouds were in the sky. It was so beautiful in contrast to the stark white of the temple spires.
I was able to participate in sealings, which I had never done before. It was great to be a part of helping others to create eternal families. Then after that I went and did a session.
While in the session, I had a very special spiritual experience. It brought me to tears. And I enjoyed sitting in the celestial room just communing w/ my Heavenly Father. After I was done, I walked around the temple grounds and took some pictures. It was so nice to be there and just escape from the world for a little bit and put things back into perspective.
I am so thankful for my family. On the drive home I was again brought to tears thinking of how even though I don’t have an eternal marriage right now, I do have an eternal family. I am so thankful for my parents and all of their love, support, and the great example that they are to me. I am so thankful for Lexie, Jon, Andrew, Nick, Nate, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. I am so thankful for Autumn and can’t wait to be sealed to her someday. Going to the temple today helped me to realize how important it is that I do MY part to be the best Mom I can for Autumn and that I work MY hardest to be worthy to someday have the blessing of an eternal marriage.
Tonight I went to the wedding reception of Liz & Liberty, some very good and close friends from work. I am so happy for them to start their lives together as a family as husband and wife. They are such a cute couple.
I am a HUGE fan of wedding cake, and most of the time that’s the main reason I even go to a wedding reception is for the wedding cake. I’ve tried some good ones and I’ve tried some bad ones. This one was from Target and was DELICIOUS! If you can’t tell, Liz’s colors were black and white and hot pink.
They had the reception at Stacy’s house and the lighting and decorations were so gorgeous. Liz wanted me to get a picture of all the candles up on the mantle. It was a very nice and relaxed and enjoyable wedding reception.
I made Nick take a picture of me when I got home, b/c I actually got dressed up and put on makeup (I NEVER wear makeup) and I even wore my 4 inch red heels. I love being so tall! It was a fun evening and I am so excited for Liz & Liberty to begin their lives together.

I so miss living close enough to go without much of an effort. I'd meet Mary once a month and off we'd go....
Keep being the awesome mom you are- you'll get your eternal family one day. The hubby will come, and one day you'll be able to be sealed. Maybe not till she's older (we'll have to wait for Nathan) but it will happen.
:)
What an awesome way to start your day. I'm so glad you were able to go and feel uplifted and reminded of how much you want an eternal marriage.
And by the way...SEXY RED HEELS. Bow-chicka-wow-wow.
